iOS 17.4 Includes Podcast Transcripts

Ok, but have they fixed the bug in the Podcasts app where the “continuous playback” setting keeps silently turning itself back ON every few days? This has been infuriating me for the past 2 years or so and is still present in iOS 17.3

SAME. Ridiculous bug and so easy to fix they must be leaving it broken on purpose.

I would love to start using Apple Podcasts again (as I don't want to pay for PC+ so I can use it on my AW without my iPhone nearby), but there's things in Pocketcasts that AP just can't do, like if I wanted to download all my unplayed podcasts to my device for offline listening ahead of time, I can't.

For whatever reason, it only every wants to download the 5 newest episodes, great, but there's lots of podcasts I haven't caught up with and would rather listen to them in oldest to newest order.

It's missing things like volume booster, silence trimmer. Come on Apple, up your game please!

I wonder if third-party iOS apps will be able to access the transcripts as well, or if this will be exclusive to Apple's Podcasts app.

Idk but Telegram has transcribe feature for voice messages at least for premium users. I saw that feature in Snapchat as wel but probably works in English only.

It would be great if these were searchable across all podcasts, so one could search for any word or phrase and get a list with deeplinks to the specific podcast and be taken to the specific timestamp of the utterance. Especially for obscure topics where you’re not going to get a million results. Let’s say I wanted to hear folks talk about the Performa Series of Macs or my specific town.
