All the data has been intact after the loooong recovery. Re-updating via IPSW to see if the second time's a charm.

EDIT: Second update attempt went fine without a glitch. I'd still caution waiting another day though especially if anyone's got a 13Pro.

If you check for updates with iTunes, it states that there is a new update due to the build number difference.

guessing since so many complained about 17.6.1 this is what they gave to us instead of 17.6.2 It was a vocal minority so they didn't feel the need to release 17.6.2

I read it's due to a problem with Advanced Data Protection setting not enabling or disabling properly for some people.

Thanks @OceanWraith, didn't know to check it that way, as over the air wasn't offering the update since I did the original 17.6.1! Great tip.

valid question but Apple did this same thing for a .x update a few months ago can't remember which one it was

Could it be an issue with the installer, not the actual load? I recall some people had to install it twice for the installation to actually succeed
