just curious, if almost everybody charge wireless, why people claim for a USB-C? actually why even those have cable connector, why not remove any port? (serious question).
I generally charge with a cable. I have magsafe and standard wireless chargers but I feel it’s faster with a cable. I use a cable with my phone when I travel and want to top off faster, same for iPads which only charge with a cable. Day-to-day with no real need to charge, just top off, I use wireless. I hope they keep both available but if they ever went wireless only I would be fine just like I am with my watch. It charges pretty quick.

I travel around a bit for work and being able to charge everything I take with me off a single cable would be really useful. Not game changing, but just nice to not have to remember multiple cables.
When I travel, I bring a single USB-C cable along with a small lightning adapter that goes onto the cable for when I need to charge my iPhone and AirPods. It's still one more thing to carry, but it's tiny and a lot more convenient than having to bring two cables.

I don’t know why but all my AirPods cases get very hot from wireless charging.

And, unlike an iPhone, they don’t cool down once they reach 100% and stop charging.

AirPods get hot and stay hot, both from Qi and MagSafe charging.

If I were to forget about putting them on a wireless charger, I’d expect some serious wear on the batteries.

I’ve owned other similar, wireless headphones with small Qi enabled cases and all of them managed to stop taking in power and cool down when they hit 100% charge.

I don’t know what’s wrong with AirPods. But I only charged wired because of this.

I’m one of the unlucky ones that have that bug where AirPods don’t ‘stay’ in Find My. It’s really annoying. Do a full reset, all good for a couple of days then they vanish out of Find My again. Hope this fixes that bug as it’s annoying

"Conversation Awareness is part of Adaptive Audio. It is able to detect when someone is speaking, lowering the volume of the media and cutting down on background noise. This feature also enhances the voices in front of you so you can hear what's going on."

Does this mean it detects when the wearer is talking, or when others are talking to the wearer? The former is implemented by Sony but it pauses whatever you are listening to and works really well. I'm not sure if simply reducing the volume or trying to guess if someone is talking to me will work as well.

Does this do anything to drawn out background noises so that the person you are speaking to can hear your voice more clearly?

I'd like to see some automations for the noise canceling mode. If I'm listening to music with ANC and I press pause I'd like transparency mode to be activated automatically. It shouldn't take anything more than that to pause music and respond to someone attempting to talk to you. Today it's a three step process. Pause, wait, press and hold. If this was automated I think it would be quick enough that said person wouldn't have to repeat themselves.

I'm a die hard Apple fanboy but honestly I get 90% of AirPods Pro features from my Soundcore Liberty 4 NC for a fraction of the cost...hate to be that guy but there it is

For a multi billionaire company of software and hardware developers, no new functionalities at all. Apple simply runs at pace which is 1/10 of that of 2007. Siri, iTunes, iOS, MacOS: how many people work on these? 10, 20?

I think the AirPods Pro 2 already have something like Conversation Awareness. I had an unfortunate health event last October and had to spend a couple nights in the ICU. Fortunately I had my AirPods with me and was able to noise cancel the bustle of the hospital when I needed to rest. One early morning I dosed off with ANC on and was startled awake by Siri's voice reciting what the nurse was saying to me. It was cool, but confusing at first until I realized what was going on. But I was super impressed Apple had included such a useful, undocumented (as far as I knew) feature.

Anyone know if they added support for automatic switching to the Apple Watch? When I try to use Siri on my watch or respond to a message on my watch with my AirPods Pro 2 listening to music on my phone, dictation never works. Siri will pop up on my watch but I get no sound or Siri response through my AirPods.

Well a shame the decent features are AirPods Pro 2 only. Would have liked to have seen them also come to my AirPods Max considering I paid more than double the price that I played for my AirPods Pro 2.
You are completely right but it is most probably related to H2 chip in the Pro 2nd Gen. AirPods Max is overpriced.

Don’t care if it’s faster just want it to work correctly in the first place.

Or even better, to not have to shut this off on each and every device individually and rather tell a set it as a property of the headphones to always connect to the last connected device.
Or even better, let this be a property of the headphones themselves that they'll connect to the last connected device by default always instead of having to connect them to each phone, tablet, and computer and then tell that device to not connect to the Airpods automatically.
I am using the iOS 17 beta and AirPods Pro 2. Perhaps there hasn't been the necessary firmware upgrade on the AirPods, however, they are connecting much much better to my iPhone 13 Mini. They have always done a pretty good job on my iPads and computers, but I have always struggled with my phone. They have been so good since I added beta 17.

Does the AirPod beta firmware make the new hey-less “Siri” command work via AirPods? It’s been working when I talk to my phone, but not via my AirPods, but I haven’t done the AirPod firmware hoop jumping yet

So much whinging! What a fabulous set of features for the hearing impaired. I use adaptive transparency to control noise levels in restaurants and at concerts. The 'free' new features will make my Airpods pros even better in daily use.
💯 % 🎯

i see dark mode but not the new adaptive option, what is the firmware version, I have 5e135, case 54.26.1
