I noticed today ios17 is granting the Burner app full access to my photos, even with privacy settings restricting any/all access, as well as limited access. Basically, the Burner app can access all photos, regardless of the privacy settings.

Is anybody else noticing inconsistency with iOS 17’s privacy settings?

The plot thickens. Seems iOS17 is granting the Burner app a special "Private Access" setting even when I select "None" for the photos privacy setting.

I'm finding limited to no helpful info online about this setting.

Complicating things...even if I select "Limited Access" or "Full Access," the Burner app sees a limited set of photos when I try to attach a photo to a text message.

I've seen online where others have posted that Instagram and/or Safari showed "Limited Access" under privacy/security for photos access, and...Safari isn't even an option for me to toggle photos access.

Is anyone else seeing this strange/erratic behavior regarding ios17's photos access settings?

I've never used that app, but I did a search and came across this:

Thanks I saw something like that too, but it's still confusing why some not all apps have this type of permission selection. And, the execution of this type of setting seems non-robust, since no permission setting lets me "see" each and every photo in my library when using the Burner app.
