Think I’ll go back to iOS 16 on my iPhone 12 PM while I still can. Hardly notice a positive difference. The annoying keyboard lag overshadows everything else
I get a keyboard lag you might be referring to in iOS 16 iPhone 12 Pro: I start typing and the “magnified” taps start chugging the more I type until the phone gets to a complete halt for a few seconds, then a barrage of keyboard taps and letters burst through for the missing ones I typed while it hung (as if it were auto-typing).

Had to clear up keyboard dictionaries/ autocomplete-data in systems settings.

Is that the same?

I’m very glad about this as a dev - last year, the separate releases introduced difficulties in marketing new OS dependent features. And as a user I’m also happy to get new OS features as early as possible.

Next step I hope to see from Apple is that they bring major macOS releases in line with iOS.
I agree with you. Releasing macOS separately from iOS updates made sense years ago when these were in fact unrelated operating systems. Now they are so integrated it makes no sense to me to release macOS a month later.

Good luck with that. I have keyboard lag all the time on iOS 16 (iPhone 14 PM), even while I type this.

I didn’t download the beta, and don’t plan to update my iPad Pro and Mini 6, to iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, until my 15PM is in my hands. I’m not in a hurry to download the new update when it’s released. I can wait an extra week or two if need be.

Lol I’m talking about this update alone. If you read my original post. I clearly said THIS update.
