I have installed ios17 beta 2 today for the very first time. First thing I notice is some ios17 default wallpapers are missing? Anyone else having this issue or anyone know how to fix this?

My wallpapers stopped working completely (not visible on the Home Screen or Lock Screen). In addition, several of the canned wall papers are missing in the settings too.

When I go into settings, it appears I have no wall paper setup at all.

If I attempt to edit my wall paper from the Lock Screen, I can see all my Lock Screen and wall papers, but they disappear once I select one.

Onward to beta 3…

Experiencing exactly this

EDIT: I managed to fix the issue by creating a new wallpaper (I chose on of the kaleidoscope ones, also added some widgets) (running iOS17 Beta 2 on iPhone 13)

Collections appeared but it’s random. Still the ios17 default wallpaper is missing. I love that one :(

Having the same issue. Seems to be causing a battery drain as well

have you resolved this issue yet? Just got a black / missing wallpaper after transferring iPhone (restore from device). Nothing I do opens the wallpaper picker - I've even tried using a MDM profile to force it

A clean install fixed it. I had too many issues anyway

I jumped onto the beta train and installed beta 3 yesterday and the lack of default wallpaper options is happening

yes, i have this issue too, all of a sudden after a reboot this am, all my default wallpapers are gone, and the homescreen and lock screen is black, has anyone figured out how to resolve this without a restore?

I have tried everything, nothing works to bring back wallpapers. I’ve changed the region and language, restarted the phone, nothing works.

Same deal here, none of the new wallpapers are here and all my old wallpaper/setups are no longer working.

i can make new ones and they seem to work but most of the stock wallpapers are not showing.

This is Apple we're talking about here! You're doing it wrong. Probably installed it wrong!

/s I'm having the same issue. If this is rampant, I would expect a public beta update really soon.

Ok, if you change the region on the phone and then change back to your original region the new wallpapers will show up. This will also fix your broken wallpapers/setups until you restart the phone and it's back to where it was before changing region. The new wall papers will still be there though.

This worked for me, and after playing around with it some more it looks like only old wallpapers I had from iOS 16 give me troubles. I had the default one and one with a photo. If I use either of those, they do not survive a reboot.

I also created two new ones...one with the new default wallpaper and one with a photo. If I use either of the new ones I made, they will survive a reboot.

So at least for me, it seems as if iOS 17 doesn't know how to handle wallpapers created with iOS 16 after a reboot.

Still borked for me with freshly installed PB1 (DB3) yesterday. After the installation was over the current wallpaper stayed intact, but was replaced by a black screen straight after I restarted the iPhone. I can long-press on the wake screen to see all of my previous wallpapers, but cannot actually choose them.

As I kept most pictures I have just recreated my latest layout from Settings > Wallpapers by adding a new one. This one stays on.

Hopefully they will fix it in the next betas.

Otherwise it’s quite smooth for me overall.
