I think they actually mean sending a voice message in the messages app. The messages app now transcribes it so you can read it instead of listening.

If I hadn't kept typing (for who knows what reason) without the text being visible, I never would have figured that out. You're not being lazy!
 
I still get the random problem with Carplay. I don't know if it's my Rav4 Hybrid or the update to IOS17-----Every few days I'll go to use Siri using Carplay and I'll get the Siri logo on screen but no "prompt". The command is not acted upon and I have to reboot my phone. Anyone else getting this? It's better than it was a few weeks ago, as it's happening less frequently.

weird, anyone else's Apple Music get disabled this morning? mines now showing disabled with screen offering 3 month trial. I know it's working as I have a family account, and all my other family members have no issues (They are not on beta).

Update
Now fixed. My media and purchase is using another account, and for some reason my iPhone on b3 decided to switch the login to my primary account instead of the original account for media and purchases. Logged off and re logged in as the other account and Apple Music is now working. Very odd how it auto switched to my other account, never had this issue before on any previous beta's.

You do realize the purpose of the developer beta is so developers can fix their code for the next OS, and the public beta is to identify bugs and fix them.

If you’re not prepared to be impacted by bugs, don’t install the beta.

No problem with Homebridge here. Are you all in one bridge, or do you isolate with child bridges?


I’m not sure Homebridge should be with apps, as it’s and external server that interfaces with HomeKit and Home.app.

Complications in watchOS 10 are a royal mess. Especially the weather ones. I assume they will get better towards GA. Give feedback.

If you’re referring to this known issue:

In Settings > General > About, the available storage might be inconsistent with the storage usage reported in Settings > General > [iPhone, iPad] Storage. The storage usage reported in Settings > General > [Phone, iPad] Storage is accurate. (109051437)

Then no, that’s not what I was referring to. The issue that I’m referencing and has been around for multiple years is system data inflating to unreasonable levels. While some people’s sit at like 1gb.

It has been reported on multiple times and there’s many threads about it across the internet.

I don’t know if this is an ios 17 issue but tl;dr yesterday I updated the to the 17b3, and then I switched back to my iPhone 12 (purple) from my 12pm (white) in lieu of Speak Now (Taylor’s version) released- I backed up everything and then when I finished setting up my 12, to my dismay only 34 conversation (2gb) synched to my 12 purple out of my 33gb of total messages 😭. I reached out to Apple support only to tell me that they’re engineering is working on it and this is a known issue but with no definite timeline. 8 yrs worth of texts and imessages gone ☹️.

Hey guys, I’m thinking of trying to get a battery replacement for my S7 before apple care + expires, but with the beta, I remember at least someone saying after a restore or something the apple apps did not install, so, do you think it can be done, making the backups and the upgrading the new watch to os 10 and then I think restoring to add the backup? (As I understand for other reviewers for those hardware changes being in beta software it’s not a important factor)

I am having an issue responding to a caller with a text message while on another call. The incoming call banner comes in at the top of the screen, but you cannot click on it to expand and give you the message option where the pre-set respond with text messages options are listed. This is not an issue when a call comes in and you are not on another call. Only when you are currently on a call and another comes in. Anybody else having this issue or know how to fix?

Seems like every time I go in it is on.
btw - Settings Search doesn’t find this setting.

I'm back to Ventura for the Mac, still on beta cycle on iOS etc.. so I haven't been able to check. I'm quite curious as well.. if all is on the beta cycle, has SMS syncing been corrected yet?

Anyone testing this?

Still exactly the same half-arsed implementation it’s always been: SMS do not sync, iMessage do. Ridiculous decision, God(c) only knows why Apple decided to do this!
