Well, this doesn't happen to me, but what has been happening since I got the 14PM (as in since before ios17) is my keyboard language randomly changes as I'm typing, when I know for a fact my finger isn't near the "globe" button...

Anyone else have a bug on iPad where the cursor randomly moves while you're typing, even with an external keyboard?

I don't just mean the mouse cursor, I mean the typing cursor, the point where your letters are input. So you end up typing nonsense because the letters go in the wrong places.
This happens to me quite a bit and it's infuriating. These two issues are basically the only ones I'm having with iOS 17. I thought I was doing something wrong with this reachability issue.

I do. This is worse.

Naa, iOS 13 would physically hard-lock up my phone and I had to force reboot it.

I've personally had almost no issues with ios17; most of these issues seem to coincide with having a iPhone 15. The keyboard is kinda laggy, though.

Do you mean it’s improved in 17? Haven’t updated to 17 yet, but I find myself fighting auto-correct all the time. Extremely annoying. If it is better in 17, that would be something for me to get excited about.

Yes, it is night and day different. I had autocorrect turned off for years. Even the auto suggest would come up with unhelpful stuff all the time. Autocorrect would go back and mangle my already correctly typed sentence.

I turned it back on and it has already made many accurate corrections to this very post. I’ve gone from dreading having to type on my phone, to sometimes preferring it.

Still every now and then goes back and changes an article to the wrong form (then to the for example) but it’s still worth it.

Thanks! That’s encouraging. I’ve experienced exactly what you describe. I don’t expect 100% accuracy from a system like this, but as it is, it feels like it’s actually working against you and actively slowing you down.

No chance 13 was as bad as this one has been. Oh and the phone freezing up was a thing in iOS 17 too:

I am having a similar weird problem. All the way back to the original iPhone, one great feature that maybe nobody noticed was "edge rejection." There was some sort of software that would detect if your fingers were holding the screen and inadvertently touching the edge. iOS would reject those touches.
But NOW on my brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max, I have discovered there is no edge rejection at all, above the Dynamic Island. I sometimes shift positions of the phone in my hand by holding it from top and bottom. The top edge touch will activate accidentally, even if I am really careful not to touch the top of the screen. Then my window that I've scrolled down for miles, will ZOOM back up to the top, losing my place.
This has to be a bug. I hate the Dynamic Island.

The difference is that some people are having iOS 17 issues (I'm not having any issues whatsoever, nor are the kids in the house). With iOS 13, everyone across the board, had issues.

Not really, I didn't have a whole lot of issues with iOS 13.

Hopefully it is fixed soon. Reachability is a very useful feature.

I’ve had reachability disabled since inception. It’s an annoying lazy bandaid for a bigger problem which I solved by using gorilla glue gel and a sturdy metal square ring holder on the back of my phone case. Now I can reach all I want without dropping my phone and it lasts for years.
