But this is already a feature on Android, with Google Messages.oooof this is really nice, i might come back to iOS sooner than I had anticipated
unforutantely I don't find this feature, has it been rolled out yet ? it started in 2021 so it's kinda surprisingBut this is already a feature on Android, with Google Messages.

Google Messages is starting to roll out its auto-OTP deletion feature to some users
The next time you get a One Time Password (OTP) in Google Messages, it will automatically be deleted after 24 hours.www.xda-developers.com
(Unless you meant that this would be one less thing keeping you on Android.)
Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. It already does this, and it even gives you a warning "Message will be deleted from all your devices".This is great. Can they make it so that if I delete a message on my Mac it deletes from my iphone and watch too?
Have you tried this? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and generally it won't remove them from your watch.Maybe I'm misunderstanding you. It already does this, and it even gives you a warning "Message will be deleted from all your devices".
It works really well for Mac, iPad and iPhone in my experience. It does not work for the watch, not sure if it is intended to but it really should.Have you tried this? Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, and generally it won't remove them from your watch.
Yes I have, and I actually tried it right before my post, just in case I was mistaken. Deleted an SMS message on my Mac, and confirmed that it was deleted on my phone and watch. So if this is an issue with it being flaky or unreliable, then I can take your word for it.Have you tried this? It will be 3 by the time it's releasedExciting! Google Messages has done this for 2 years. Just sayin’ 😆
So its working for you - that's interesting, it hasn't worked for me for a few watchOS versions, and I have iCloud messages turned on. Its pretty frustrating as I want to keep my lists clean and don't want to have to replicate the same deletions etc.Yes I have, and I actually tried it right before my post, just in case I was mistaken. I almost never delete messages, so it's not something I do often. But I am very aware of the times that my iMessage apps get out of sync for whatever reason... it's not a lot, but it does happen so I don't doubt you.So its working for you - that's interesting, it hasn't worked for me for a few watchOS versions, and I have iCloud messages turned on. Must just be me then!
Well then it doesn't work for me.Not just Apple. It works seemlessly with any code that I've ever received. You don't need to (and are not able to) manually classify senders as "2FA codes". It also only cleans up 2FA messages if you actually click the autofill prompt in whatever app/site you're trying to log into. If you ignore it for whatever reason, the message remains in your messages app.
Yes, that is exactly how it works. I don't really understand your hesitation, just turn it on and use it when you can. If you have edge cases that don't work with it, then you continue using those apps as you always have.Well then it doesn't work for me.
I have the suspicion it only works if are able to immediately paste the code on arrival through the "From Messages" button.
However some apps don't work with that and I have jot it down from the preview.
yeah since i rarely use apple codes and it doesn't work for any others the feature is essentially useless.Yes, that is exactly how it works. What do you mean "apple codes?" it works for any SMS 2FA code, in any app or website that supports autofill (ie, virtually everywhere).yeah since i rarely use apple codes and it doesn't work for any others the feature is essentially useless.
At the very least, "Apple Intelligence" should be able to clean up or designate numbers as coder senders
