It looks as though this has been fixed on the 18.0 beta track with yesterday's developer beta 5, which became Public Beta 3 earlier today.

So it'll probably be fixed in the next update on the 18.1 beta track.

Yeah, sorry to say, whilst 18.1 is ahead of 18.0, the latest PB and DB were released afterwards and have a fix for the modem issue you’re experiencing. Wait for the next 18.1 update and it will be sorted.
