I still don’t understand how this is going to gain traction while limited to so few iPhones in use around the world. Completely botched by the CEO and his henchmen.

Just typed to Siri to ask how long to cook rice for…. and was faced with searching the web or asking Chat GPT 🤦🏻‍♂️.

(FYI I already know, and was coking the rice, I just used it as a test).

FAIL.

If I want to use Siri, I'll ask it, thanks. To me, the sole purpose of Siri is to relieve me of the need to type queries. If you're deaf, different story, I guess.

I followed what the post said and there was no option to type. There is one in accessibility settings but then that removes the ability to talk to Siri.

Not available for me, iPad Pro 2018, Portugal 🇵🇹

Also its time to merge Siri / Apple AI and spotlight.

I think most of the innovations coming from Apple Intelligence are great additions. However, none of them are enough to make me go out and replace my 12 Pro Max before I planned to which is with the release of the 17 series.
Indeed. Skip the beta iPhone 16 series and iOS 18.x , it’s pretty obvious to me that this iPhone season has been a test of both hardware and software of Ai for Apple.

Hiya,

How do you guys manage to have Siri navigate to someone in your contacts using Apple Maps in iOS 18.1?

If I say, “Siri navigate to Example Name”, Siri merely does a Google search even though Example Name is one of my contacts (in my address book).

Is it just an issue with my iPhone or do you face the same problem?

Would love to have Siri navigate to someone preferably by giving a command to my Apple Watch.

iPhone 15 Pro. iOS 18.1. US Apple Intelligence, British Siri voice.

Thank you. ☺️

I had to try 11 times yesterday to get Siri to send a message. She wanted to send the message “hi Siri, send a message” and refused to change it 🤣🤣🤣

"Everyone has the right to believe anything they want. The great thing about science, though, is that it’s true whether you believe in it or not."

Until it isn't. Science has been proven wrong just as much as belief.

This used to be a standard "feature" on like iOS 15 and below. Starting with iOS 16 they removed being able to type AND talk to siri (for whatever reason, still don't know why they did it to this day). I was so upset when they did that, it was the dumbest thing.

Am I the only one who remembers you could originally type to Siri on the first version? More precisely, you could type to edit what Siri heard to get a more proper response.

To test the new type-to-Siri option on my iPhone, I typed "How are you today?". It responded: "Happy to be here."

I didn't follow up by asking "Where's here?"

Works changing region to US
I have an iPhone 16 Pro in the UK running iOS 18.1.1, and I tried to see what this enhanced Siri/Type to Siri/Apple Intelligence was like, just out of curiosity.
I changed my language & region to English United States, and I changed the Siri language to English United States as well.
But I still didn't get Talk & Type to Siri option in the Apple Intelligence & Siri settings. Where am I going wrong?
