I've upgraded from iPadOS 17.7.2 to 18.2. Not a big changes for me, I hoped at least message scheduling will be a great thing, but it works only for iPhone recipients. No Apple Intelligence in my country, icon tint is not a deal breaker, moreover it looks inconsistent, only some icons are tinted:

I had some issues with physical keyboard, I couldn’t change language, I had to remove keyboard and to add it again.

Pros: Calculator - ok, Password app - ok, but I use another password manager app, Hidden applications - ok, but I’d love to use another passcode for hidden app, in case when I borrow the device to someone else.

Concussion:
I stay on iOS 17.7.2 on my iPhone.

18.2 broke my wireless carplay. It drops the connection after a minute, maybe two, later reconnects, then drops again ... rinse repeat
I've had to power off and on iPhone for CarPlay to connect. But, once connected it hasn't dropped,

Not sure if you are aware but apple intelligence is beta. That means anyone (looking at you YouTube) complaining about it doesn’t have a point. And persons posting this stuff are complaining for the sake of complaining.
If that’s true iOS 18 must be a beta too.

I got rock solid iOS and iPadOS on 18.1.1. Unfortunately Apple has closed the gate.

18.2 RC2 was actually great. Upgrading the to final only resulted in countless glitches and issues over the past couple of days

Mail app is a HUGE mess. Always running in background and burning battery (I have tried everything and nothing has fixed this)...e-mail notifications are non existent even after I manually download emails.

They do have a point, as Apple advertises that iPhone 16 was Designed For Intelligence, and so far anyone who has bought it ($$$) has nothing to show for it. Siri still sucks, etc.
These people could have waited till spring or whenever these “intelligent” services start working…and gotten a good discount on this phone.
As it stands it is no better than the iPhone 15 IMO - and generally a waste of money if AI is what people are looking for.

(Apple should not have advertised Designed for Intelligence until the damn software was ready. It’s bordering on fraudulent at this point.)

Well it’s not fraudulent in the least. And if apple screwed up in people’s eyes it will be seen in the financials.

Apple appears to be internally testing iOS 18.2.1 for the iPhone, based on evidence of the software update in our website's analytic logs this week. The logs have accurately revealed many iOS versions before they were released.

iOS 18.2.1 should be a minor update that fixes bugs and/or addresses security vulnerabilities, but it is unclear which specific issues might be resolved. The update will likely be released in late December or early January.

There could be accompanying updates, such as macOS 15.2.1, but we have not confirmed that.

iOS 18.2.1 will follow iOS 18.2, which was released earlier this month. iOS 18.2 introduced more Apple Intelligence features for iPhone 15 Pro models and all iPhone 16 models, including Genmoji, Image Playground, ChatGPT integration for Siri, and more. iOS 18.2 also added a useful feature to the Find My app that allows you to share the location of your AirTag-equipped baggage with select airlines, including Delta, United, Air Canada, and others, making it quicker and easier for the airline to find your lost or delayed bags.

Apple is also testing iOS 18.3 with developers and public beta testers. That update is likely to be released in January, and it only includes minor changes so far.

The only bug I need fixed are group chats that are muted that still notify me even though i have "hide alerts" turned on. So annoying

I hope this fixes the fact that my phone can no longer retrieve emails from my IMAP email server (it can still send them). This is a pretty major bug for many people who use IMAP based servers.

I’ve seen someone posting this before and has to do with the imap settings. Somewhere you’ve to put a “/“ in the settings. Someone has wrote it somewhere. Don’t remember where 😅

This doesn't fix the bug except for a very small subset of people.

As to a possible macOS 15.2.1, I might be getting a clue by the behavior of my several Linux VMs. On updating, they are all pulling in webkitgtk. This is particularly noticeable on Gentoo, where most packages build from source; watching webkit build on Gentoo is like watching grass grow. :)

My 16 Pro is working perfectly on 18.2. Cool as a cucumber, long lasting battery, smooth operation.
I think the problem is in Telegram which was updated on Wednesday. There are countless reviews complaining about heat on AppStore.
