As mentioned, iOS 18.2 should expand Apple Intelligence to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and the U.K. for the first time.
Doesn’t this just mean we will get Apple Intelligence in our localised version of English in the 18.2 release? Shouldn’t we still receive Apple Intelligence in the UK in US English in 18.1 like the current beta?

I know the December time frame was picked because past x.2 releases were in December, but past releases didn't have the scale of Apple Intelligence and 18.1, the first AI containing release, has only been in beta for a few weeks. If 18.1 gets released in mid-October, it only leaves a couple months for beta testing 18.2 - not much time given that developers probably won't do much work over the holidays. Either there won't be much in 18.2 or it'll come out in the new year, in my opinion.

Yes, if you have the relevant settings enabled on a qualified device, you’d still be able to access Apple Intelligence beta until we get the localised version in December for the UK 🙂

It’s funny that one of the images says “Available in localized English” spelt incorrectly for all of the countries listed in their localised English.

I find that waiting fatigue is a real thing. Now I find that I don't even want this anymore. That has also happened in the past. Apple takes so long and so much longer than everyone else I stopped caring way before the time they rolled out whatever took them so long to roll out.
In fact, I don’t even bother to wait anymore. Marquee Says it very well: don’t buy a product with the promise of things coming in the Future. Once Apple is accustomed to delay release features promised, I bet their sales number will take a sizeable hit. Wait, we have new users every year? Nvm.

Apple isn’t stupid. They want to bring it to the EU, since it sells devices, and Android manufacturers have no trouble offering AI in the EU, even though Android is under “gatekeeper” rules just like iOS. But Apple is already behind schedule with their AI anyway, so they concentrate on English first (even other non-US English countries will only get it in December). And since Apple is annoyed with the EU legislation, they are mumbling something about regulatory uncertainties, as a welcome excuse for the delay, and maybe in the hope of influencing public opinion in the EU.
And this is why customers should clearly express their frustration and disappointment. It’s a multi-billion-dollar company with the best lawyers, developers, and resources, yet it is almost a year behind the competition, a few months behind its own schedule, and still advertises its product as ‘the best they’ve ever made.’. Best for who? One country, and not now but in October with next update? It's getting silly.

Good to know. Looking forward to trying out some of the Apple intelligence features.

Yeah, I used to get excited, but now? I have a 15 Pro Max and I cannot think of a really good reason to drop another $1,000.00 +.

They almost got me with a Black Ultra 2. I already have a titanium colored Ultra 2, and I pre-ordered the black one while chasing the shiny bauble.

Happy to report I cancelled that order and I have successfully escaped the Apple Yearly Bauble fest, aka, "September."

Blame the EU idiots, not Apple. Apple is sick of jumping through hoops to please these morons.

For some reason Google was able to rollout their AI features in Pixel lineup, without violating DMA. Same with Galaxy phones and other smartphone manufacturers.

Well, it seems Apple doesn't want to waste the effort on it. And good for them. I'd withhold basically everything from them for being so petty.

Fortunately you are not in charge, that business wouldn't last long.
And well, most customers are not very loyal. They will just choose the best option for them.
I'm not a fan of DMA in the form it was introduced in EU, but fighting it with such decisions would hurt Apple itself more that EU and customers.

Apple is already doing it and are doing just fine. "Wouldn't last long". lol.

Apple threatening to not sell in the EU is like Disney threatening you can't enter their gift shop after spending time at the amusement park. I'll just save some more money.
