An app that reads my emails and decides which ones are important, is very creepy. The same is true for notifications.

Maybe I’ve asked this before, but just to be sure: Does the mail categorization feature need Apple Intelligence? I know it is required for the priority mail feature but, is it required for the categorization? Thank you.

I hope it helps get some order to my unread mail inbox... 🤔

Thankfully though, that's an odd bug?

I need more clarity on what's available for everyone and what's available only in English or in USA.

Is this feature available for everyone already? I don't feel like installing a beta to find out.

But I'll be a happy camper with this feature, I have like 10,000 unread emails. I gotta do something. 😅

Seems they haven't added it to macOS mail app, or needs some activation?

I don't see the option anywhere. If I search for it in Mail, there are options that come up in the search results in the View Menu, but nothing actually there. Clicking on a search result does nothing. Maybe a future beta, if too unstable on macOS? Restarting didn't work either

Yes, I don't see it in Sequoia or iPadOS either. Bummer. That's the feature I was more interested in.

Is anyone else having issues with their mail app loading new emails? I’ve tried everything. Reboot, sign out of iCloud, reinstall. All at the same time.

Emails are loading in iCloud website, in spark app, in all other emails clients….

They’re just not loading, or fetching in the mail app. The earliest I have is Tuesday. Had no issues yesterday, but yesterdays emails are gone now as well.

I'm not seeing any photos or icons on the emails, is that just me or did they not enable that part yet?
Apple is forcing business to abide by their rules and get it all approved. In typical Apple fashion. I get icons in my encrypted emails for work, but no not Apple, they always have to have a half baked fancy system that takes everyone years to catch up to.

Seeing this as well, iOS 18.2b1 pulls a few but iPadOS 18.2b1 pulls even less
iCloud.com is showing about 15 emails. iPad is showing none but my phone shows 3

plus it broke the mail count. If it is a bug then it will get fixed, but the app shows zero mail until you dig into the app and find them. When you turn the sorting off it still has missing mail until you open the laptop then "magically" they are all back

M4 iPad Pro. 11” Cellular + WiFi. No mail categories either. I guess it might come later? Appeared fine on iPhone 15 Pro Max running this latest beta.

YES! I am having this exact issue with my IMAP email account. The other email accounts are fine. This is on my iPad. On my iPhone, which I have not updated to IOS 18, is handling IMAP emails just fine. Look here:

After using this since its release, I hate it , I am missing too many emails that needs to be read had to go back to default past one

Yep - a whole bunch of them

Combined with my 1Password sub I'm nearly fully captured, as their integration with each other to instantly create masked emails from my custom domains is just ...killer ... absolutely killer

(among so so many benefits I could enumerate if I sat and really thought about it - FastMail is phenomenal)
It's actually simple to import all Gmail directly into Fastmail. I did that for my iCloud and HEY and it was seamless.

What I want to know is when will they introduce it to macOS? Personally I love it on iOS but if Apple introduced it to MacOS I might even consider swapping. Can't understand how one could miss emails but I've been using Spark for years which has the same category sorting function so, maybe it's familiarity. Anyway if you need to check all mail by date just click on the first catagory (Primary) then All Mail and you're back to mail by date (read and unread) as well as a little icon which shows you what catagory each message has been assigned and if it's time sensitive. I think it's brilliant.
