But the inability to delete the underlying engine does make deleting the rest of the browser sort of moot if you’re trying to save space. On iOS, Opera is 81.7mb, Firefox is 185.1mb, and Chrome is 252.2mb. I’d bet Safari is closer to Opera than Chrome.
Well done the Eu, it’s great to have the freedom to do this even if most probably won’t. Now if I could also uninstall unwanted crap like Apple TV from my MacBook I’d be delighted - I honestly could not believe that there is unremoveable bloat on a full blown os when I first ran it, absolutely disgusting imo and very nearly lead me to returning it.
Which I’m fine with, as long as Apple isn’t expected to help people that delete things like messages. With great power comes great responsibility and all that.

I’m of two minds:
1. Yeah, apps should be deletable.
2. Is it an app that takes up much space? Or is it a wrapper around core OS capabilities, primarily the ability to play video?
Now, even if it saves you zero space, they should allow it, if only so people don’t feel the need to post about it
