Does this mean Safari will continue to run in the background? I seem to recall previously that downloads of shady roms would hang if I went to do something else.
Happens often enough to me, for example with e-books.These days it would be quite rare to download something big enough (or slow enough) that I would have much time to actually lock my phone before it finished.
Yes, it's news to me that downloads continue. Every time I've tried it in the past they always seem to stall (or maybe they go into some sort of battery saving super-slow download mode). It's not just when I lock my device but switching to another app seems to do it too. In fairness I'm mainly talking about my experience on the iPad, so maybe it's different from the iPhone for downloads. I normally keep Safari open using split view to make sure the download keeps going.Does this mean Safari will continue to run in the background? that's because of web developers eager to jump on using Blink-exclusive experimental features and not coding to Web standards. Nothing Apple can do about that. Firefox is suffering from the same problem too.It would be amazing if Apple could stop this cosmetic nonsense and fix Safari (at least Desktop version) once and for all so users don't have to rely on Chrome every time they need to use the web properly. Many websites don't function well in Safari, which is a major issue. Overall, Apple software seems to be in a state of decline, and it's really disappointing!
It matters because you are complaining about desktop Safari and this thread is about Safari in iOS. It is my opinion that your original post in this thread is off-topic.Why does it matter? The issue with Safari failing to render certain websites still exists.
Desktop : OK?They don't. Desktop Chrome uses Blink, while Desktop Safari uses WebKit. Why does it matter? The issue with Safari failing to render certain websites still exists.
