My iPhone 16 Pro could most definitely toast bread, even playing Easybrain Sudoku seems to get it pretty darned hot. Hoping that they will do something about this, I would rather they turned the dial back a little on performance when it isn't necessary than have a battery issue due to endless sessions of overheating. As opposed to iOS for Toasters? iOS is by default for iPhones.
On a side note, are they finally internally testing before release?

I didn’t throw shade at anyone, I just refuted how bug free ios 18 is. This one bug is just one example of countless problems I’ve had starting with iOS 18 that did not exist in prior versions. The experience has degraded, this is an objective fact. You responded with your experience the same way they responded with theirs.
I haven’t seen anyone else experiencing the same issue as yours on this forum. While a lot do have a stable build on iOS 18 there’s a percentage of us who’ve had varying range of bugs. No need to throw a shade at someone for not having a bad experience.
You did refuse to install from scratch though for reasons only you’d know which might actually resolve the issue.
iOS is so complex and there might come a point where you might need to start from scratch. Flawless working of 430+ apps can’t be guaranteed by anyone.
iOS 18 is not bug free, in fact no software is.I didn’t throw shade at anyone, I just refuted how bug free ios 18 is.
It is your objective fact, you have issues. It is my objective fact I have not seen the same behavior. This one bug is just one example of countless problems I’ve had starting with iOS 18 that did not exist in prior versions. The experience has degraded, this is an objective fact.
There is no guarantee and obviously your phone has some bizarre stuff going on.Ability to install or update even a single app is an expected funtionality of the iPhone since iPhone OS 2. Flawless functionality of a fundamental core element of iOS SHOULD be guaranteed.
Again, your phone has bizzare stuff going on. Something unique to your phone.Just like making and receiving phone calls should be guaranteed - another thing my iPhone can’t do since iOS 18.3. This is apparently too much to ask of Apple.
Really? Bugs shouldn’t exist?I’m not going to start from scratch and I shouldn’t have to start from scratch. The bugs shouldn’t exist. Period, end of story.
Bugs this severe and impactful to the core functionality of the device are pretty inexcusable. They really should not exist. It’s a phone that is no longer a phone - nuff saidiOS 18 is not bug free, in fact no software is.

If it were me I would take the phone to Apple and get a root cause analysis. Zero day vulnerabilities as one example of severe bug should not exist either and yet…Bugs this severe and impactful to the core functionality of the device are pretty inexcusable. I think you're dismissing all the variables involved. iOS itself, ton of apps you have installed on your iPhone developed by hundreds of individual devs, your own config. Multiply this with years of updates and constant changes to your device with added functionality of each iOS iteration and the app updates. None of my settings or the apps themselves have anything to do with the fact that iOS itself can’t install or update any apps - this is an iOS problem through and through. I’m sure it is rare but it is still very real. The only thing I would install 18.3.2 for is the hope that it would fix this misfunction, if not my only other hope is that iOS 19/a new device will do the trick. Like I mentioned before, yours is a rare anomaly. No one else is having issues with app updates so it's already a guarantee and so is the situation with making and receiving calls.
I've had frame drops and random battery drain like others and that's the only issue I've got on my 13P on iOS 18.
The only other ways you can resolve is be checking the individual logs or praying for a miracle that some future version of iOS 18 might fix the corrupted block and get things to work.
If no one else is having the same issues then it's not Apple. It's your device. Either you do something about it or keep having to deal with the mess till that time comes.
Please define objectivity. I'll wait...The experience has degraded, this is an objective fact.
It kind of seems like you don't want to do anything to try to solve your issues aside from blame Apple? Why wait until iOS 19 to update, why not see if going to iOS 18 will help with some of your problems? I mean there's a risk it could make it worse but odds are you could see improvements.None of my settings or the apps themselves have anything to do with the fact that iOS itself can’t install or update any apps - this is an iOS problem through and through. How can you be sure your settings/apps have anything to do with your issue? Before - it workedPlease define objectivity. I'll wait...
iOS 18 in its various permutations are what caused all this in the first place. So yeah, I am going to blame Apple. Their software caused this, and there are no other conceivable options. I am not going to start from scratch, that is not something that should be required of me and the fact that I don’t have to do that is one of the core tenets of the iOS experience. I already said I’d be willing to update to 18.3.2 but if you have other suggestions I’m all ears.It kind of seems like you don't want to do anything to try to solve your issues aside from blame Apple? Wrong. That's not a definition. Before - it worked
After - no worky
Sounds like a degradation to me
I can say objectively that the device is less functional than it previously wasWrong. That's not a definition.
Objectivity means to be without bias, prejudice, judgement, or even opinion on the matter.
You are not objective and therefore cannot say anything about iOS 18 as objective fact.
Huh. I have several hundred apps on my iPhone (on the latest version of iOS), and have never had any problems with getting them to update (I do it manually, one at a time, because I want to read the release notes along the way).Tell that to the 430 apps I have ready for updates that can’t be updated because my iPhone has not installed any apps in weeks. Then I open Pizza Hut and it tells me to please update the app. You can’t even get pizza with this phone. 18 is the buggiest iOS has ever been by FAR.
This is isolated to your phone and you know it. You have refused to try and resolve it by several options because " you shouldn't have to". Stop with the FUD please.Tell that to the 430 apps I have ready for updates that can’t be updated because my iPhone has not installed any apps in weeks. Then I open Pizza Hut and it tells me to please update the app. You can’t even get pizza with this phone. 18 is the buggiest iOS has ever been by FAR.
Or even "reset settings" or anything anyone has suggested that will in all probability resolve his issues. You responded with your experience the same way they responded with theirs.

100% wrong. iOS updates billions of apps for everyone else every day so if it were broken as you suggest others would have same issues. Tell ya what, backup your phone and restore iOS. See if anything updates or any of your barrage of issues still exist. If they do you may have a leg to stand on. Probably faulty hardware. Otherwise there is your proof that iOS itself is NOT the cause of your issues.None of my settings or the apps themselves have anything to do with the fact that iOS itself can’t install or update any apps - this is an iOS problem through and through. It doesn’t work. It IS broken. I don’t understand why you are so determined to believe otherwise. I wish it were not the case but I gain nothing from coming here to make up stories. Obviously this doesn’t affect everyone with an iPhone, even the sycophants couldn’t fellate that story away. Plenty of other people have chimed in with various iOS 18 bugs they’ve encountered, I’m just sharing mine. So far all the “fixes” suggested are unproven, more problematic than the the problem itself, and a significant burden upon me. So I’m not going to do them. Fair and simple. The most I am going to do is update via IPSW, if and when it conveniences me. Right now I can’t do that as there is nothing yet to update TO.100% wrong. iOS updates billions of apps for everyone else every day so if it were broken as you suggest others would have same issues. Your refusal to attempt a reset settings, update (not wipe) iOS via ISPW file, restore iOS with and without your backup is getting absurd. One thing is for 1000% certain, coming here and complaining constantly is NOT going to resolve your issue, especially if you refuse the help everyone has offered you for going on for months now.
No update is going to resolve your issue because iOS is not broken, your setup is. I am really starting to believe you are not even for real. No one would continue using a phone that has all the issues you claim have, (can't make calls? Really?!?!) what would be the point? Something is really off here. Months of a non working phone that you paid $$$$$$ for and you refuse to even attempt to fix it because "it should work and you shouldn't have to"? Nah something here is off.
Correct. And yet you still choose to visit an apple specific rumor site… certainly makes a lot of sense.
You know if you’re fatigued by apple’s recent announcements you can just… Ignore them? Not look at them? Not interact with them?
Vast majority of even apples own customers have no idea what they are up to, and no idea what operating system they are running, you can be one of them just as easily.
For example, I care very little about what Motorola is up to these days, so I just… don’t pay attention to what Motorola is up to these days.
It’s very cool, this choice thing.
Correct.
