iOS 18.4 Adds New Ambient Music Feature

It’d be great if this feature was available without needing a subscription or other limitations that take away from the experience.A bit more information is at 9to5mac, where it says "powered by Apple Music", but no mention if a subscription is required or not

The music seems random but one of the tracks that played under the “chill-out” button sounded distinctly like an instrumental version of “Save Me” by Aimee Mann.

Easier said than done... there is no trigger for "ambient music"

This is one of those little features that Apple didn’t announce or hint at, but are really welcome. Especially if it doesn’t require Apple Music!
I use the iOS ambient sounds a lot, to isolate a bit from the noisy outside world. And this looks great for this.

I just want some sort of sleep timer functionality within the Apple Music app. It’s in Apple podcast app, where you can stop the sound at the end of the episode. Why can’t Apple Music do this? Going to the Clock app and fiddling with that timer is BS.

Over the control center you can choose it and select the different scenes , no problem at all

I have not listened to this but it could be AI spitting out muzak-like ambient tracks. In which case Apple would not have to pay any artists for the streams. There can be some really insipid ambient sleep music even by humans and there is some really great sleep music, too. Different people will have different tastes. I would be surprised if this curated list was any good for my tastes

Yea I dont like that. What if we dont want the app? We can't delete the app because its a hidden app.

Yea but does it say those are considered SONGS. Like when u go to settings general about scroll to songs does it show those 4 songs? Like I dont have any songs on my phone. So I feel like this is apple giving us songs we dont want on our phone. With no way to delete them because its a hidden app.
