Waiting to try out on screen intelligence features of Siri. Not expecting Siri to improve drastically but still expecting it to be better.

Peep this: (iPhone 16 Pro) I ask Siri for contact information for a local business, she comes back and says she can’t find that contact on my phone. Then I say “look it up on the web”, Siri responds with something like “I don’t see an app called Web on your device.”
🤯

It’s a complete disaster and Timmy should make a public excuse to all of his loyal customers. Apple is falling behind on all fronts and they want to mask it with some new genmoij.

Why are all those Apple Intelligence features only available for their newest iPhones? Samsung has the same on device AI rolled out and WORKING. It’s also able to work on older devices as well.

A total embarrassment from Apple.

You might want to give this article a read.

These incremental rollouts are getting tedious. Finish your product and then release it.
You have to understand that they are rolling out pretty big changes on an operating system level to billions of phones, taking into account backwards compatibility, local regulations, developer frameworks and what not, test everything incredibly well so it doesn’t turn into a disaster after release.
This is not like developing an app. This works is extremely complex with a high degree of responsibility and accountability. I would rather see their iterative, careful approach to continue because it is in the best interest of us, end-users.

I wish Apple would revamp all of the emoji with a new style. They are so bland compared to a lot of the other emoji styles.

As an Italian speaking person I will be constantly looking around all corners. It cannot come soon enough. I currently use all the features in English which is great but all the text and summarization stuff is useless as my documents, mail, calendar and so on are all in Italian.

Anyway.

*looks around corner*

I only wish home automations would still run without a stupid pop up notification, if there is nothing classified as “security” on them, or if it is to lock/power off stuff. Why should it ask me if I want to lock the door and/or turn off lights if nobody is at home and the door is already in a locked state? Just silently do it as it used to do in iOS 15 (or 16, been a while since this new stupid behavior).

I understand the safety implications of opening a door automatically but hey, perhaps if there was an option to include or not a door into the automation… 🙄
That sounds like a bug to be honest. I haven’t been having that. I have a ton of home automations and they usually just work (*knock on wood*). Heck, I just made a test automation to have it unlock a door at a specific time and surprisingly worked without confirmation. I definitely believe you when say it’s happening though, and I can only imagine the frustration.

I swear iOS 17 and especially 18 have had so many weird edge case bugs that only happen on some devices or to some people and not others. I’ve filed so many bug reports with Apple about weird things that only seem to happen to me and uploaded countless logs over the past almost two years. (They’ve never acknowledged or responded to a single one sadly.)

I’m getting to the point that I might just clean install iOS on my iPhone to see if it fixes things, but I don’t want to deal with that hassle either.

iOS 18.4 will have a more advanced AI and is expected to release in April as per the latest news. Apple Intelligence will be released in more languages and many more new additions like emojis, default apps, and translation options.

Hope we can still turn the AI stuff off. I do not need all these new "gimmicks" that require remote access from ??? to work or get information. Information flows both ways and we have NO idea what they are sending to ???.

Apple's AI is still warming up in the oven. Not even half baked. Full functionality is probably two years out and will require both lots more memory and CPU horsepower than our fully maxed out optioned M4 MAX Pro MacBook Pros or Mac M4 Pro Mac minis fully optioned.

Creative sales anyone? Obsolete all prior equipment because AI now requires 64GB of ram and multi TB SSDs.
