Is the translucent clock new, or have I just not added a new clock for ages 😂 Or is it a glimpse into the translucent world of iOS 19?

i have a 16 Pro Max, and I did a full restore without a backup and I noticed that some bugs appeared in the system

when I turn off the phone and turn it on again, I notice that there are some stutters and crashes when I try to enter any app or access the app library... and then everything goes back to normal... it wasn't like that in iOS 18.3.2

As reported a few pages back, I am part of the group that does not get any audible alerts on my phone for emails. Works fine on my watch and mac. All settings are 100% correct, including the customize options. I reported this back in September, which Apple acknowledged. That said, I have other iPhone users on my account who all have the same issue. Curious if this could potentially be a carrier thing given the randomness of who it works for and doesn’t work for? Perhaps something to do with intelligence settings? There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason.
Also, text message alerts are also random. Sometimes light up the screen and/or alert, other times I get nothing.
I'm also having the same problem since 18.4, no notification sounds for mail. I have 4 email accounts setup with the mail app, each has a different notification sound. Turned individual mail accounts alert off and on, changed to different sounds, disabled change sound volume with buttons in sounds setting, and of course having rebooted the phone. All to no avail.

18.3.2 broke push iCloud mail, which is fixed with 18.4.

Same on my 16 Pro

I have a 15 Pro Max and for some reason every time I restart the phone, I can’t use the AI features for several minutes afterwards as the phone says it’s downloading the models. It doesn’t seem to be though as it just starts working even though I’m not on WiFi.

My Apple Intelligence takes up less space than the people around me. I've tested it on both an iPhone 16 series and another iPhone 15 Pro, and Apple Intelligence takes up 6.23GB and everything works fine. Mine takes up 6.21GB and never understands anything, neither Genmoji nor Image Playground. Activating and deactivating Apple Intelligence is useless since it doesn't delete existing models. From what I've read, the only way to delete them is to deactivate Apple Intelligence for a week or more, and perhaps iOS in this case will delete them. It's ridiculous that Apple doesn't allow you to delete them manually, because a bad download could occur and ruin everything.

Wasn't the object eraser part of Apple Intelligence? I disabled it last night, and the eraser still works.

Anyone have any indication (or hunch even) than current Mail app problems might get fixed in 18.4.1? Would like to upgrade to 18.4 from 17.7.2 if it's really the best version of 18 to date, but Mail problems are putting me off.
Opinions welcome!

I never upgrade until the .5 or .6 release, iOS 17 didn’t settle down until 17.7
They seem to spend more time teasing features of future releases than concentrating on the quality control and regression testing..

Thanks, and yeah, I'd be on 17.7.6 if it were available for my phone (SE2) but by withholding security updates on phones that can support 18. I feel Apple has put us between a rock and a hard place. I was hoping 18.4.1 might be stable enough to make the move, get security up-to-date, but not have to live with the bugs in earlier releases of 18.x.

Do you think there will actually be an 18.6.x before 19 is released (and we start all over again)?

Since updating to iOS 18.4 my screen time is broken. My phone constantly shows the settings app as running 24/7. Regardless of what I do ... I am shown as being playing with the settings app all the time. Interestingly the battery settings show correct values.

I have tried everything I can think of... turn off/on screen time, reboot phone, mess with time settings, remove my iCloud account. I did hard reboots, soft reboots.

I am out of ideas. This whole thing is such a mess with all the bugs that crept in. I really don't care about fancy AI nonsense when even the mail app has turned out to be an nightmare (IMAP issues).

Is there anything I can do to "force reset" screen time except for wiping the whole phone?

I am annoyed a. f... !

I don’t know about you all, but iOS 18.4 has been smoother than 17.6.1 for me. Way less lags and hesitations overall. Everything is buttery. If anything is on the fence about finally jumping on 18, this is the one right here.

Have you tried resetting all settings?

Be aware though that WiFi passwords would be removed from the Passwords app and you’d have to reconnect to ever network again.

even after several days and a reboot, I find 18.4 even more laggy, especially in the notifications animation (when you delete them by swiping left), you too? I didn't have that before..

Smoother than 16.7.2? Still on the fence with my 14 pro.

Unfortunately I didn't have a pro phone during the iOS 16 era, but I haven't seen or felt any lags or even skipped frames with iOS 18.4. The only issue I have is the notification animations but I already beat that one to death hah

oh hello, here's someone who has the same problem with notification animations ; how did you solve that? there's nothing to do I guess and just hope Apple fixes it?

Turn of notification grouping for each of your apps and then it’s fine. That’s how I’m rocking it until they fix it.

you have to do it by application, it's a shame there's no universal setting, but thanks ; are we sure apple is aware of this? has this bug already been reported on the Apple forums?

I love the ambient music feature and use it all the time. Sometimes it pauses for no reason, and when I press play the playback bar gets buggy and does some very strange things, flickering and blinking. Does this happen to anyone else?

By the way, 18.4 on my 14PM is a breeze, I have improved battery life, and overall it feels very stable except for this little bug.
