It most certainly is not. The device is useless without the OS, and Apple only licenses the OS to me. They control it. They force notifications about software updates. These notifications are not optional. Apple resets settings when I update software to benefit the corporation. Apple will not allow me to disable Wifi or Bluetooth from Control Center (they automatically turn both back on the next day). Many other examples, but if you think you "own" and control every aspect of an iPhone, you are grossly misinformed, bro.
