Question for the collective..

I noticed with the 18.5 series betas that whenever my Sleep focus was active, one of my home screens was gone. (At first I actually didn’t know that it was happening only when the Sleep focus was active)

I knew you could choose different wallpapers and settings for the different focus choices. but it seems that now, if you have multiple home screens, you must specifically choose which of them will be visible/available while the focus is active.

My question is this: “Has it always been this way & I simply didn’t notice?”

Jumped back on the beta yesterday. Can’t see a huge difference. Siri works much better for me now with the basic commands like „increase volume“.

I’m on 334 cycles @ 88% (15 Pro)
I also have the 15 Pro, and with 260 cycles, it's at 92%. These batteries were supposed to last 1,000 cycles with a battery health of 80% or more, but I find that impossible. And with the AI draining and heating the phone even more, it's even less so.

I too have a 15 pro that was first used September 2023. I am at 448 cycles and 94% maximum capacity. For the past year or so I have kept my charge limit on either 80% or 90% and never use wireless charging, only wired, which I think drastically helps extend the battery life. I would recommend giving this a try and seeing it if helps you as well.

There's a pinned battery thread that has already discussed this a bunch, but to summarize:
  • Battery degradation is not as linear as some might think. It can go for ages without moving then move a ton in a relatively short time. And then it might be stationary for a long time again. Many users have gotten to 80-85% and then started sharing frequent updates here, trying to find a way to get it to drop more so it will be "covered." Also, each OS install has the possibility that it will recalibrate the health reporting, changing the number up or down. And no two batteries are the same.
  • Apple will say that the battery is designed to retain 80% health at 1000 cycles, but they will only replace it for "free" when it is under warranty, so unless you are paying for the monthly AppleCare forever, you will rarely get any benefit for these claims. Best to treat a battery as a consumable item and if you plan on keeping the phone more than a couple years to budget for a second (or even third) battery.
