iOS 18.6 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Thought I’d share it here. I’ve been a beta tester since the beginning, and this is the first time this has happened to me. 😉

FWIW, I've used low power mode on my 15PM and it's been okay, no problems.

I decided to go Beta 2 as out of nowhere my 16 PM started getting hot and having battery drain. I have no idea what caused it. RC can’t get here fast enough. I’m done with these betas.

I can no longer connect to Apple CarPlay on my Pioneer deck. The deck recognizes that I have an iphone plugged in, but the Apple Car play icon is greyed out on the menu screen. 😥
FWIW, I had no issues with beta 1.

I’ve noticed slightly worse battery life on my 16p on beta 2, beta 1 was incredible for me best I’ve ever had

Kind of the opposite. 18.5 was heating up my 16PM so thought I'd try 18.6. Not much better.

After a few days on beta 2, battery life seems to be an improvement on my 16 Pro vs beta 1.

Great. I'll tell chronic disease patients that I feel fine, so it must be their fault.

Hotspot is working as normal on my 15PM; tested with an extended session with different devices connected to mobile hotspot. I'm sorry you've had problems with it. I hope the next beta fixes it for everyone.

Once connected, it's fine. But it does not show unless I play games turning on and off multiple times.
It just doesn't show up unless you explicitly turn on hotspot (allow others to join). This isn't the normal requirement (although having screen on sometimes is to prevent people from seeing you with screen off/idle).

I have two SIM's, so connectivity is fine. And yes I've disabled/turned off second SIM to see if that fixes it.
Again, two iPhone 16 (regular and plus) and another 15 Pro - all running 18.5 - are fine, and show up on my Mac(s) and iPad.

So how would it work if you DONT turn it on? Not sure I follow.

Same here on iP16. No issues at all with b1 or b2.

Huh!? It works for me. What do I need to debug? Going by other posts here, it works just fine for others too. That’s good to know surely? I’m not disputing you have an issue; I have had issues before when others didn’t. 🤷🏻‍♂️

US - VZW 64.0.1

Getting excellent battery life on my 15PM running 18.6b2:

Each 10% decrease in battery charge gets me about an hour of active use.

This has been pretty consistent almost every day since installing beta 2 a week ago.

I’ve seen this before with some previous betas. Goes away and then comes back again unexpectedly with increased battery drain.
