Hey there! So, I have an iPhone XR, and when I connected it to my Mac Finder, it showed an update available and started the update process. But guess what? My main iPhone, the 16 Pro, said it already had the latest update (version 18.7.1). I manually updated my iPhone to version 18.7.2. Now, here’s the strange part: my Mac didn’t even prompt me to install iOS 26.1 on my 16 Pro. I mean, the XR isn’t available on iOS 26, so that makes sense. But then again, version 18.7.2 isn’t available as an IPSW file, only as an OTA update. So, my XR somehow ended up with an IPSW file. It’s like a bizarre twist of fate!
IPSWs are device-specific. The XR and XS will continue to receive IPSWs (e.g. https://ipsw.me/iPhone11,8), the iPhones who can update to iOS 26 don’t.

Hello friends, one question. Has anyone with an iPhone 13 Pro Max updated to 18.7.2? What was your experience like? Thanks in advance 💪🏻👍🏻

Haven't updated my 13 pro (backup phone) but have seen it running on a regular 13 and the user hasn't reported any issues. Most of the update seem to be security updates, and its a lot of them tbh.

Thank you very much for your answer, my friend.💪🏻💪🏻

Guys i have a question:

I consider buying a used iP14P which runs 26.1 atm.

Is there any chance to go back to 18.7.X ?

I have an iPhone 15 Pro running iOS 18.7, and I’d like to update to 18.7.2. On 18.7.2, does the phone get hotter, run slower, or drain the battery faster than on 18.7? Thanks.

How long are you guys planning to stay on iOS 18?
I got a new 15 Pro which has still iOS 18 installed, so I will switch back from 26.1 which is running horribly…

Will prob move to iOS 26 when the next release is out, 26.1.1 or 26.2 or when Apple stops supporting iOS 18 on devices that can be updated. What matters most to me is that severe security issues are being fixed.

I have been using iOS 26 on my workphone for quite some time and its fine, not crazy about the new UI but 26.1 helped a little bit.

For me it’s purely about battery life. I’ve been reading through the threads and the battery is horrible with a few people saying it’s close to IOS 18. The other thing is there’s not much for me that I gain from going to 26.X until AI takes place of Siri in April or so.
