iOS 18 overhauls the Control Center by letting you reorder, resize, and remove buttons, access a controls gallery, and add multiple screens, moving away from the single-screen layout of recent years. In this article we are going to show you how you can create dedicated pages for various control types, such as connectivity, HomeKit devices, and Accessibility options.

The new Control Center comes pre-configured with multiple default pages, which you can freely customize, add to, or remove. The system accommodates up to 15 separate screens, offering unprecedented flexibility when compared to previous versions of iOS.

Navigation between these pages is easy. You can swipe up and down through Control Center, tap small icons on the right side of the display, or hold and scrub through these icons for quick access. The following steps explain how to add additional pages to your Control Center.
  1. Swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to launch Control Center.
  2. Tap the circle icon at the bottom of the icon list, which indicates a new blank page.
  3. Tap Add a Control to open the Controls Gallery.
  4. Use the search field at the top, or browse the controls with a finger scroll to find the control that you want to include on the page, then tap it.

Using the corner anchor, drag with your finger to expand the control if you wish.
  5. When finished, tap a space on the page to exit editing mode.

Control Center intelligently assigns icons to each page based on its content. When controls exceed the available space on a page, or if a resized control becomes too large, Control Center automatically creates a new page and relocates the excess controls. Bear in mind that the option to create a new page only appears when an existing page is approximately half full, ensuring adequate spacing between icons and maintaining a clean, organized layout.
iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 are currently in beta and expected to go on general release around mid-September.

There is no constancy in design language here. there are way too many different designs. And the team that worked on this was not in communication with the rest of iOS teams, so the UI is so fragmented. This screen is so ugly!!
And with ever-growing size of displays, it is getting more and more difficult to reach the top corner to access the Control Center.

Wish we could revert back to the previous version. Hate not having wifi and cellular available together, instead it’s either the 2x2 connectivity widget + a separate cellular one or the big full page connectivity widget. Also hate how I can no longer long press Home to have quick access. Everything in iOS 18 requires more steps, but the Calendar and Reminder updates make up for it

Controls from the control center should have been widgets since the beginning in my humble opinion. That way, we would have been able to place them wherever we want (even on the main screen). And yes we also need 1x1 widgets (like a dynamic icon).

Would be more useful if Control Center were most easily accessed, rather than having to stretch all the way up to reach for the tiny corner.
You dont have to strech all the way up. You can drag the sceen down with the bottom bar so to speak to more easely access the control center.

But, is it possible to just have all the needed buttons on a single page? Or I will have three or four pages whether I like it or not? Can you delete the CC pages that you don’t need and stick only to the first one?

EDIT: I’m reading that yes, you can delete all the pages.

Reorganizing Control Center is a complete disaster. It has a fixed grid...so WHY does it have to automatically rearrange EVERYTHING on the page when I try to move a control from 1 spot to another? It's like having a rubix cube mini game in the way.
Idk but it's very frustrating. I submitted a bug report and the feedback app shows there are 10+ similar reports so hopefully they fix it for the final release.

As far a I know we are already on the final or near final release. It still needs TONS of work. It is going to ship in this miserable state.

Affirmative, my Control Centre is just one page and not even filled up completely.

I played with this in beta and if you remove icons from an empty page, there's no way to remove the empty page. I remember reading this as a common complaint, and had to find some obscure youtube video that showed you how to fix it. Hope they fixed it by now

What I’ve done on my iPhone is set double tapping of the back of the phone to open control center. Settings-Accessibility-Back Tap. Occasionally I’ll get control center popping up when I set the phone down on a table a particular way but other than that it’s not bad at all. Keeps me from having to reach for the corner of the screen to bring control center up. Double tapping the back while control center is active will dismiss it as well.
