Would like to have more flexibility for the connection widget in the control center.
This one as a 1-4 row would be a nice addition.

Help me with my decision:
Should I install these beta on my daily driver 15 Pro or not? Ahhh can’t decide.
For what it’s worth I’ve been undecided (haven’t on previous betas) because of this I’ve decided to wait for the RC for iOS 18 (iPhone 15 pro)

Oh dear, then you have had some terrible experiences on iOS 17. This is by far the worst battery life of the betas since beta 1.
My battery life is not horrible. Of course, because it's a beta full of tracing and logging, it's going to be worse than the standard RC or production releases... but so far, it's not been horrible.

Likewise. I feel it’s gotten a bit better with beta 6.

Also, beta 6 feels really polished. I haven’t encountered any major or minor bugs.

Never said it was horrible, and if you had read my post up further I specifically said this beta has not been optimized by Apple for battery performance. It’s running all kind of stuff in the background, so battery life isn’t great.

I simply was saying that the person I quoted saying battery life was better iOS 17 must have had some terrible battery life on that release.

How long did it take for you guys until it stopped showing "Ongoing device setup" in the battery menu, and "Indexing your library" when using Search in the Photos app?

I have a library with 60'000 photos and it has already spent 2 nights using 100% of background time indexing. Still not done. If I try to search for a word in the Photos app, it will show some pictures containing that word, but it will for example not show any album with that word in its name.

I've never had this take so long with any version before (I upgraded from 17.6.1 to 18.0 beta 6). Just a beta bug, or is it expected to take so long?

Better wait 1-2 days longer. It should be done by then.
I haven’t had this messages showing up in my battery settings neither the photos app which is a bit strange as well. On my second phone the iPhone 13 with ~30 pictures on it I got this info in the photos app.

Yes, and I will stick by that. You act as if this proves something, or that it was wrong and I didn’t know what I was talking about. Far from it, and nothing you have said is something I haven’t already said before. Just because it’s the worst of the betas since beta 1 doesn’t mean it’s horrible. Also, doesn’t change the fact that battery life can be worse on different betas knowing all that is going on in the background of betas. Apple could be pulling more data right than before.

As I stated in previous post here, there is a lot going on with betas and optimized battery isn't top priority for Apple just yet. Collecting data and running logs is what they are after to get as much information they can. I know that, but what you or I don’t know is how much is being used for each beta, which can contribute to worse battery life on a per beta bases.

Yeah I still have the message on the battery screen - it’s there much longer this time. Might be a beta bug but no real biggie, one of these smaller things.

Hhhmm..I'm getting dissapearing items from Control Centre, not had that since beta 1, will report.
Yeah Control Centre does have the disappearing bug this build. I’d not bother rearranging things there until next build.

Be careful not to complain about anything angering you on these betas…you’ll get scolded by a few on this forum using your “daily driver”.
With that being said, for the most part iOS 18 betas have been very smooth and minor problems.
I know, I've been coming here for a long time, seen it many times... regarding myself, i know the risks, been burned in the past, been there seen it done it and got the t-shirt and hat

Hm. Took my iPhone 15PM today at about 6:30 from the power station, normal "office usage" (some MFA, some instant messages, some news ticker notifications, a few minutes of instagram, threads, Fotos etc. you get it - but no heavy load) - now about 7h later, the battery says 83% remaining.

looks pretty good to me for a DB. even this close to a final release.

Airdrop to my Macbook doesn't work anymore with Beta 6. It say something like "Sharing not possible. Something went wrong while preparing for sharing. Try again later".

iPhone 15 Pro Max, Beta 6. Macbook is a 14" MacBook Pro with regular MacOS, no beta

Annoyingly Wifi-Calling has been disabling itself after a while for the last few betas.
This is the UK MVNO "Spusu" backed by the EE network.

Hoping for Find my to be fix, and keyboard lag to go back to beta 4 good.
I’m curious what your specific bug is? I’ve had an issue for months now where Find My just fully removes my location exception, which happens to be home.

So every day when I leave I get alerts about leaving items behind that I don’t want that alert for. Unfortunately this has persisted from iOS 17 into 18 PB4.

I was really hoping for a fix.
