Ios 18 CarPlay not playing music directly

If I ask Siri to play a song in CarPlay, it searches the song....bute doesn't play it. I have to press the play button on my unit to start playing. Why is that?

Oh a HomePod if I aks siri to play the song plays directly. In Car that is very distracting. Can I do something? is it an error??? Please help...

I haven’t had any issues and on the newest PB. Try rebooting the phone?

Yep. Siri works fine and my music plays every song I’ve asked Siri to play. Sorry your having issues

Yea I don’t understand. My CarPlay even lights up like Siri on the phone. I’m not sure what you could rest or change to make

Do you mean that it doesn't automatically start playing? This started since 18.0. When I get into my car, it won't automatically start playing last song, I have always to click play.

No, when i say „Siri, play the new song of one republic“ f.e. It finds the song but doesn’t start playing. I have to press the play button on my car audio (with CarPlay activated)

I noticed this behavior when I would be using the Sirius XM app and then ask Siri to play something on apple music. it loads up the song, but I have to hit play manually.
