It hides icon names, folder names, blue dots (newly upgraded) and clouds (offloaded).

Luckily, like animals which make themselves bright red/yellow so you know they're poisonous, this option also makes the icons look ridiculously big, so you're not tempted to use it anyway 😁
Sometimes, I am asking myself "what are you doing Apple - anybody home?" There are attempts to do something useful, but then the coffee machine is only offering "coffee with sugar" "coffee with milk" but no "coffee with milk and sugar"

Larger icons = more space to launch them, bigger widgets

I made the change on first beta as hoped I’d get used to comically large icons….i had to revert

Coming from Android I can't imagine having such a small number of Apps per screen. With the Nova Launcher I use an 8x8 grid plus five additional apps at the bottom that appear on every screen. I can even place Apps between the grid positions. So in fact it is a 16x16 grid where every app takes up a 2x2 space.

The size of the keys on a virtual keyboard shows how small icons could become while still being easily clickable.

I'm also team "let's have the textless choice with smaller icons". The iOS layout with large icons is just fugly. It works on a larger screen like iPads. Not on cramped layouts.
I requested the option through apple beta program. I'm sure they won't even bother.

It also made me realize the home screen widgets edges are not perfectly aligned to those of app icons. Wether the icons are large or small. Thank you apple for triggering my OCD.

I really can't decide. I like not having the labels, but damn the icons are huge. Maybe they won't look so huge after using it for awhile.

I like the slightly larger icons with no labels, especially with dark icons enabled. I do agree with markgpearse, the folders should still have labels. I think widget labels should disappear completely no matter what settings.

I must be in the minority. I like it a lot. It's minimalist. A little rearranging and it can look really great without feeling like it's a child's toy or phone for grandparents.

I changed to Large size.

Odd looking at first. But getting used to it. Love it without labels. I am not using folders.

I like it to be Icons remaining same size
Grid having one more column and one more row of icons. 4x6 - > 5x7 or 5x8

Large icon with 4x6 grid also should be optional.
Also the icons in dock increased to 5. With 5x7 grid

Yeah it looks terrible with the icons larger. It reminds me of those old ppl phones with super huge everything.

No thanks

Anyway. I am happy to call the Fold 6 my main phone now. More options

Yikes. Bless your heart for making an android your main phone.

Happy for you though I suppose.

Way more than enough time to see how ugly it is.

I hope, since this is a beta, that they'll realize what a lot of people is pointing out, that you should have the option to remove names without the icons becoming bigger.

Can anyone say for sure if this works on iPad as well? Would love to do this on a Mini.
It does - there is even more free space now, even with larger icons...

Actually, the size of the touch zones around the individual keys on the keyboard are constantly changing, and are larger than the keys you can see, based on how frequently different letters are used, and which letter it thinks you’re going to type next
