Perhaps not surprisingly, Apple did not release number of those with compatible devices who installed (and use) Apple Intelligence. I've read elsewhere that over 70% chose to not install it. Seems 18.3 is going to push the issue, so I wonder how many will choose to not do the upgrade?

Still holding on to the 17 on iPhone 11 Pro. Unsure how it will run on iOS 18 and I don’t wanna risk it yet…. Anyone know how it runs?

iOS 18 has been running fine on my 16PM. While I haven't made use of every new feature, I appreciate many of the changes that have better refined the user experience for me, even if it is small in some ways.

They could instill the patch and then turn Apple intelligence off.

I stayed on 17. My phone is just old enough that any extra bells and whistles from 18 won’t work. So will probably stay on this until the SE4 comes out.

iOS 18 adoption is on pace with iOS 17 adoption last year, according to iOS 18 adoption statistics provided by Apple. iOS 18 is installed on 76 percent of iPhones introduced in the last four years, while 63 percent of iPads from the last four years are running iPadOS 18.

68 percent of all iPhones have iOS 18 installed, and 53 percent of all iPads have iPadOS 18 installed.

For all iPhones, 19 percent are still running iOS 17 and 13 percent are running an earlier version of iOS. For all iPads, 28 percent are running iPadOS 17 and 19 percent are running an earlier version of iPadOS.

This is the first time that Apple has provided insight into iOS 18 adoption numbers since the operating system was released last September.

Last year, iOS 17 was installed on 76 percent of iPhones from the last four years as of February 5, with 66 percent of all iPhones running the update. 61 percent of iPads from the last four years had iPadOS 17 installed, while 53 percent of all iPads were running the software.

iOS 18 adoption is about the same as iOS 17 adoption, but it is worth noting that Apple is sharing the numbers slightly earlier this year. iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3 are expected to see a launch next week, which could push more people to upgrade to the operating system.

Major new Siri features are also coming to Apple Intelligence-compatible iPhones with an iOS 18.4 update that's expected in April, so iOS 18 adoption could see another major jump at that time.

iOS 18 is available to iPhones that are up to six years old, as it is compatible with the iPhone XS/XR and later. Apple Intelligence features are limited to the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 models, however, which could discourage some iPhone users with older devices from updating.

So, a whole lot of people are stuck with the crappy photos app, bad search, bugs that aren’t there before, etc.

😅

Many users on various online boards said that they're staying with their older iphones with older stable iOS versions, like 17.x.x.
Many are willing to wait until iOS 18 later, though playing the wait game doesn't help as iOS 19 to be released supposedly later this year.

There are bugs in all software. But “many” is not a quantifiable word.
If I pretend the bugs aren't "quantifiable" will that make them go away?

No, it makes them non-quantifiable. And if you weren’t aware there are simple bugs, that may be minor UI glitches to zero-click vulnerabilities. Both are bugs, one I care about and one I don’t.

I know some will say I don’t care about the zero day but fix the UI.

How is the Adopting Rate of Android 14?
Bruh, lol, let us just be content with it working and looking half decent with great hardware on a few choices out here forst shall we?! Lol. Please lets not fight dirty lol.

Low. But Google counts it as every Android device that connects to the Play Store, so that could include phones, tablets, TVs, cars, etc.

Mostly Samsung makes and sells the most tablets yet even their theyre loosing their soul and drive. TVs washers stoves etc sgain Samsung barely anyone else. Its a dumb excuse as google doesnt even try no more.
So what? Frankly, I don’t care. There isn’t a single “feature” in iOS 18 that I want. This will likely be my last iPhone.
I pray you check everything you've setup just in case you want to come back cause I'm screwed by adding a loved one whos difficult to understand i need a revoery code which i found out acrually is time sensitive ans expires as Apple doednt tell you this!!!

I thought the same as you and literary just 1.3yrs Im pounding on the door to come back due to this incestant monopoly of Google getting worse eliminating all end user choice from co.pwtitive manufacturers which kills off competing software [Samsung Messages vs Google Messages] cause everyone cannot use tbeir words no more to express emotions. The soul of end user choice is rapidly falling away!

How can a company be THE soul supplier of an OS to its clients, dictating the must have to use its services, while also being a hardware competitor to ALL of those clients, form partnerships then coerce them to loose their uniqueness and NOT be seen as a monoploy in the USA nor the EU?!!! How?!
