amazing news. Surprised this wasn't reported sooner! 10 years back I used to use a workaround solution (https://github.com/360Controller/360Controller#xbox-controller-driver-for-macos) to get my wired Xbox 360 controller working on my 2011 27" iMac and used subsequent updates but it became less reliable with each macOS update and eventually stopped working altogether. Happy to see it officially supported. Just tested it with Steam :)

I just pulled a wired Xbox 360 controller to my M1 Macbook. It works plug and plus just like my Series X Controllers.

No more unpairing and pairing between devices. Instead I csn use the wired 360 controller with my ipad for roblox and COD.

I am confused. Controller I got with my Series S.
Xbox Cloud Gaming in browser. Xbox.com/play
On Bluetooth on my M1 Air it always worked.

When I plug it in it recognizes it and shows it in the panel.
But with Chrome I can't use the controller, with Safari I can.

No idea why. Maybe someone here has an idea?

My guess: Safari is using the GameController framework which has the new driver, as opposed to Chrome which uses IOKit which doesn't have the driver.

I always thought it was bizarre they didn’t work when connected with a cable, wonder why that was even a limitation to begin with

so will this work if i plug my xbox elite series 1 controller to my ipad?
