Great... however, you still need to check your math...

Passes + Kayaks + Snacks + Gear +
Sunscreen + Water = $475

$475 ÷ 5 = $95 each

There are SIX items, so...
$475 ÷ 6 = $79.17 each

Maybe Apple Intelligence will fix it for you?;)
I think you misunderstood the question being asked. Why on earth would you want to work out the average cost per item?

You don't divide it by the number of items, you divide it by the number of people in the group. (😉)

I love the variables concept in Math Notes for being able to write any equations with them. But it would be a nice touch if you could add, immediately after a list of expenses (e.g.), the line "Total =" and it sums the list above it, so you wouldn’t have to type all those variables out again in an equation. ‘Course, it would have to be smart enough to know the start of the list. But easy enough, I think, with a blank line above it.
According to the keynote, you can draw a line under a list of numbers to get the total.

So typically Apple. The app is currently riddled with issues and a UI that is inconsistent with other iOS apps and they don't mention fixing anything (timely syncs, backups, exports, imports, printing, UI , etc) and add superfluous features. It’s an Apple app, designed to be so bad it makes you want to pay, so Apple can get its cut.

There are some nice features. But I guess most will only work, when you use the iCloud-synced notes? I still sync with IMAP for compatibility reasons.

Does anyone know of a good app that does the audio transcription now that doesn’t send your data to chat gpt or any of the other AI services?

Audio recording and transcribing is available on the iPhone 12 and later, but the feature only works in English.
I bet that’s really US English not English.

I understand people are drawn to novelties and gimmicks but otherwise how is this math useful? Aside from light weight use by a high school or liberal arts major just use Excel.

tradies, builders, working out measurements/costs for quotes/jobs

On android, you can use a feature called, "live caption" all on device, you can download different "dictionaries" for different languages. It's part of the OS, not an app(it's an app on windows and mac too, in the chrome browser)
You can google search live caption iPhone. If you have iOS 16
