I was thinking because of the retail deals going on, Apple is motivated to skip Cyber Monday seeding. The gift card event continues thru 12/8. A lot of the gift card amounts have decreased today compared to Black Friday.

Agreed, Tim and gang at Apple are probably busy shopping all the cyber Monday deals instead of working on iOS.

Found a pic of them from someone’s live feed.

Best guess is tomorrow for 18.2 RC and Wednesday for 18.3 b1
Could be, but didn’t they release 18.1 RC and 18.2 Beta 1 at the same time? I seem to remember when I updated having the option to either install the 18.1 RC beta, or hop onto 18.2 testing. 👍🏻. I think this would make more sense, that way you don’t have people install the 18.2 RC beta just to install the 18.3 beta 1 the next day. 👍🏻

When was the last time we had a RC or beta seed on Cyber Monday? :p

But I did say that Apple employees were inclined to take an another day or two earlier, that implies more like Tuesday or Wednesday.

Correlation ≠ causation

I think we’ll get iOS 18.2 RC beta and iOS 18.3 Beta 1 today!

We won’t see both releases on the same day. To my knowledge, a dual release like that has never occurred before. It didn’t happen for the iOS 18.1 release candidate (released on 10/21) and 18.2 beta 1 (released on 10/23).

I expect 18.2 RC today and 18.3 beta 1 tomorrow.

Are you sure about those release dates? I could have sworn that when I went to update, there was an option to go with the iOS 18.1 RC or to go with the iOS 18.2 Beta 1. I don’t recall having to wait two days. But I guess maybe I’m remembering it wrong?

iOS 18.2 beta 1 released October 23rd, iOS 18.1 RC October 28th.

However this time iOS 18.3 beta 1 will drop day after iOS 18.2 RC as per @gwhizkids who I agree with this time. 😁

I looked it up, and @gwhizkids is right, the iOS 18.1 RC dropped 21, and 18.2 Developer Beta 1 dropped on the 23rd. Maybe I was late to update? I don’t think I was. I’ve usually been updating the day a new beta drops. I don’t understand though why they wouldn’t drop them both at once, otherwise you install a beta, just to install another beta the next day or two. I admit though, I’m really excited about testing a new version probably with new features, so I’m a bit biased. 😂🤣👍🏻

18.3 is probably just a minor update before a big 18.4 update, so they might not ship it until after public release of 18.2.
18.1 and 18.2 was released in developer beta much earlier than usual because of the hype and promises for the new AI features
