Trying to install the latest public beta of IOS 18 on a iPhone 12. I have 18 GB of storage free but it still won't install saying that I need to free up more storage. There is nothing else I can delete. Just how much storage does the installation need? Any suggestions? I do have a very large photo library. Thanks for any suggestions.

Have you gone through and offloaded your apps (Settings > General > iPhone Storage)? That will remove the apps, but leave your data intact so you don't lose your stuff. That's what I did when my parents ran into this issue on their iPad last year. I offloaded most of their apps, upgraded, and then redownloaded the apps. I may be mistaken, but I thought it told on the upgrade screen how much more free space was needed.

Also, some apps may have some sort of "clear cache" capability within the app themselves, so check that too if you see any apps that seem to have a large amount of data (Documents & Data). For example, Snapchat does...I just cleared about 10GB of stuff that was in the cache. You'll want to do this before you offload the apps.

If you still have trouble, you'll probably need to upgrade using a computer. Either wait until Monday, or find the ISPW file to use.
