That's odd. My 15 Pro is running smoother with less heat and bugs than 18.7. Battery has been great too.
How you even can compare 18.7 and 26 if they were released at the same time. Your 15 Pro running smoother for what? You installed 18.7 for two day and then did update to 26? What a ******** statement

I don’t get why people put themselves through these first point release growing pains. iOS 13 launch was a mess, so I learned from that. It has never been smooth and problem free. Last year we had a partly non-working mail app for several months. That’s not acceptable if you use your devices for work. I never upgrade until the second or third point release around December (26.2 or 26.3) 🙄

Good thing you're so clever. I wonder what would happen if everyone was as clever...

I ran 18.7 long enough for it to finish indexing. Then decided why the heck not and upgraded to 26. There was two days where 26 was also indexing and doing all the same things as 18.7. It performed better battery wise and heat wise during those 2 days than 18.7 did.

I’m just saying that the general public shouldn’t have to be beta testers for several months after the official release has been rolled out. All major issues should had been fixed before 18.0, but still there were months of a non working mail app. The mail app started working correctly for me in 18.5. Whole companies had to switch to Microsoft Outlook to be able to send and receive emails reliably. The beta testing period has to be extended if core functionality issues don’t get fixed in time for the public release. So therefore it has been proven time and time again that it’s best to wait for the .2 or .3 OS version.

I have had many bugs in icloud storage that I recently had in ios 18. It has gotten worse in ios 26. My Icloud storage has TRIPLED in size on ios 26. I have 0 texts, messages in icloud is turned off. I have 1 photo and 24 contacts. I even deleted one contact and that didnt reduce the icloud storage. I manually delete texts and from recently deleted so I dont know whats increasing my icloud storage. I have reported this on the feedback page MANY TIMES and APPLE REFUSES TO ADDRESS THIS. If I am forced to buy more storage because APPLE is increasing it on its own then I WILL FILE A LAWSUIT with APPLE.

If you google Is there a bug in ios 26 where its increasing icloud storage this will tell you everything. Funny apple is silent on this issue.
I completely agree 100% with this. There is a bug here. my nack up from old phone to a new phone increased by 3X with absolutely the same amount of data. and values doesnt add up. Apple seems to be having a bug in metadata calculation .

Question: do you think Apple will release an iOS 26.0.2 before 26.1 is finalized? I think it could happen due to occasional reports to Liquid Glass glitches even with iOS 26.0.1.

Of course you're right and I agree, absolutely. But it's impossible, IRL OSs are way too complicated to be tested in-house to perfection. Or, actually, no, BUT the development for each major update would take years, if not decades. Also, if the majority of consumers would wait for those second or third fixes, you'd have the same problem. The less there are users, the less there is feedback for the developers and the longer it will take to fix bugs. Yes, they could release minor updates at the same pace as now, but there would be far fewer issues fixed in each.

So, yes, outsourcing OS development to the users is ethically questionable, but it's the only way for the companies to keep up the pace and that's why they all do it. So instead of mocking early adopters you should thank them, their suffering is to your benefit and they seem to do it willingly. Hats off.
