If 26.0.2 is still happening, it will likely be Monday or Tuesday next week.
The only Friday/Saturday/Sunday iOS update I recall was quite a few years ago (a patch for iOS 11 or 12, perhaps) that came out on Saturday morning US Eastern time due to an imminent daylight saving time bug that would have presented that weekend.There are instances of Friday updates in the past.
As with every other release of iOS since iOS 6."iOS 26.0.2 Update for iPhones Coming Soon" means, there never was a final stable release of iOS 26. It is still beta.
But I believe the problems have increased greatly since Covid and “remote working”. People need to be in the office together for software builds/fixes-sharing ideas to fix all these bugs..As with every other release of iOS since iOS 6.
The Release Candidate is already here, getting installed on my iPhone.I think right now it appears Apple is rolling all the bug fixes into iOS 26.1, which may go into Release Candidate as early as tomorrow.
I am very disappointed in Apple, knowing how buggy iOS 26 and watchOS 26 have been, not getting biweekly updates out the door right now to stabilize and deal with some of the more onerous bugs.

We really needed a 26.0.2 by now -- it has been over a month since the initial release. Not being able to swipe down messages on Apple Watch to mark them read is driving me mad.
