Thank you, Apple, for finally adding the Polish language to Siri after 14 years… not
Apple's CEO talks to our President a lot. I'm guessing he may know something we don't. Like maybe our President agreed to give Poland to his boss/handler in Russia.

Apple Intelligence is ONLY available in Germany and France in the EU. The number of languages it supports just means that, in those two countries you can speak those languages and make use of the feature.

The DMA is an important piece of EU specific legislation for you to know about, you should read up on it.
Nothing you have contributed under this post is correct, not a single thing, but you stated it all so confidently.

Not only is it not true, it has never been true. So it’s not as if it is outdated information, it’s just plainly false. Yet you so confidently “corrected” people and state that others should read up on it. What have you read up on exactly? And the rest of your comment history paints a similar picture: factually wrong information confidently stated as fact.

I would hate to give unsolicited advice but maybe you should have a look at your media consumption habits. It might not be the best, especially for someone who likes to correct people so confidently. And if it is wrong in such simple and easily verifiable matters, who knows what else it is wrong about.

I have noticed that ever since the far right started decided the rule of law and fair competition were enemies, the spread of EU misinformation exploded and with it the rise in EU experts rose exponentially, many who don’t even understand the most basic elements of how the EU works, but all recite the same factually wrong talking points. I don’t know if the shoe fits.

But I guess this is the world we live in, people have decided they must have an opinion on everything, regardless of how uninformed it is. “I don’t know enough to comment” is simply not a thought that comes across people’s minds anymore.

Apple Intelligence: Live Translation with AirPods

Live Translation with AirPods is not available if you are in the EU and your Apple Account Country or Region is also in the EU

  • English (United Kingdom)
  • English (United States)
  • French (France)
  • German (Germany)
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Spanish (Spain)

Is this (not) up to date anymore?

With iOS 26.1, Apple Intelligence is gaining support for additional languages, including Danish, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese (Portugal), Swedish, Turkish, Chinese (Traditional), and Vietnamese.

Apple-Intelligence-General-Feature-2.jpg

Apple announced plans to expand the languages that can be used with Apple Intelligence last year, and now the added language support is here. Apple Intelligence is now available in the following languages:
  • English (U.S.)
  • English (Australia)
  • English (Canada)
  • English (New Zealand)
  • English (U.K.)
  • English (South Africa)
  • English (India)
  • English (Singapore)
  • Chinese (Simplified)
  • French
  • Japanese
  • Spanish
  • German
  • Italian
  • Korean
  • Portuguese (Brazil)
  • Danish (iOS 26.1)
  • Dutch (iOS 26.1)
  • Norwegian (iOS 26.1)
  • Portuguese (Portugal) (iOS 26.1)
  • Swedish (iOS 26.1)
  • Turkish (iOS 26.1)
  • Chinese (Traditional) (iOS 26.1)
  • Vietnamese
The iOS 26.1 update also adds more languages that work with AirPods Live Translation, including Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Chinese (both Mandarin Traditional and Simplified).

iOS 26.1 is available for developers right now, but Apple will likely expand it to public beta testers in the coming weeks.

Apple Intelligence is not even available in China and they support two versions of Chinese, this is hilarious lol

The catch is, if you want Live Translation, you must change your Siri/AI language to the same language.
And the LT languages is a much smaller list.

For example while I used Australian Siri for years, I had to switch Siri/AI to US or UK English.

Even then there is a bug in LT and it is currently not working.
Being It wants you to download LT languages even tho they are already down loaded.

Feel free to correct me if I got this wrong. 🙂

I don’t know how you use Google, but quick google search literally gave me number 5 times greater than yours (which still might not be a lot, but it’s ~10mil people)
I admit. I used AI search yesterday and today I see 23%. Might be me googling it wrong.

Good to hear Apple Intelligence is being supported in more languages. However the feature itself requires a lot of improvement. As for live translation in AirPods, would like more languages. Don't think that will be happening anytime soon.

I mean, blame the DMA? It states that before any device/service can be designated a gatekeeper, it has to be offered in 3 or more member countries. Germany counts as one, France counts as two and Poland would count as three. So, as long as it’s not in Poland (or anywhere else in the EU) they avoid gatekeeper fines.

Sounds to me like the folks in charge knew how it would affect how companies invest, so they specifically made sure that Germany and France would still get their tech. And the rep in Poland signed off on this. :)
An excellent reply showing how little knowledge many people have and how much disinformation they can throw around…
Just this update added 4 EU languages. 4.

Are you one of those people that think Europe is a country?
Macrumors literally gave you a list with supported languages (before 26.1) and except German and French there's also Italian and Spanish.
So not sure what's your point with the "gatekeeper fines for 3 or more EU members" when Apple AI is available for every EU country, just not in every language and with 26.1 they're adding even more supported languages.
Yeah. And Sweden, Denmark and Norway also gets Apple Intelligence now. Also EU (Except Norway).

Wtf.. That is incorrect! When 26.1 drops I’ll have Apple Intelligence here in Sweden as well (EU), and Denmark gets it as well.

Google is lying, it really wants to sell its own products (almost give them away), even if with 40% and the rest would like to or don't know.

It is very funny why Apple Intelligence still isn’t available in Polish ? The country with almost 40 millions of people hasn’t Siri and Apple AI in polish language. That’s abnormal. I Think Polish is simplier than Vietnamese or few asian languages

Completely Agree on Polish, but Apple's missed approach goes beyond Siri / AI. They don't even have a presence in Poland. Instead they rely on the iSpot retailers as a partner. Their attitude towards the country has been clear for a while, unfortunately.

That´s just not true. I'm in Portugal and I have Apple Intelligence with 26.1.

Dear Polish friends - start using Apple's products first (or convince others). Android, Windows are significantly more popular in PL. Btw, what's the difference between Apple and primary reseller, like iSpot? Both are similarly expensive.

EDITed.

If you don't invest in your consumers, why should they invest in you? Samsung has a whole tower in Warsawa.

At the size and scale of Apple it's simply inexcusable to (almost intentionally) ignore a country the size and scale of Poland.

Seems like chicken and egg problem? Samsung has always been terribly popular in PL (still think S6 was one of coolest phones I had). Apple is beginning to be popular, but few years ago mobile market share was below 10%!! Now it's higher but still, not quite mind-blowing.

I purchased some products straight from Apple in the past (and returned 50% of them without any problems). There are so many places to check out their products. So what's the goal, except that PL deserves not to be ignored?

Not that I'm defending them. More like analyzing the problem. Sure, it would be nice to have Apple shops in PL. And have PL language support (although I personally hate talking to machines, wouldn't use it anyway).

Well as we are not being able use it in Europe, why adding the European languages? 🫣
At least it spares me 1200 euro again this year.
So strange especially because it has more then twice the inhabitants the states has.

It also has regulations like DMA. Lack of support for some services in EU is partially penalty from Apple for being controlled by strict regulations which try to make them less monopolistic. And I like it (regulations, not penalties).
You will spare 1200€ and will be more creative not using AI features. No cons actually. A lot of 3pty AI apps are available if you really can’t live without AI.

Glaring omissions some which make me wonder if they support something as a system language how come they don't support it as a translation language be it live or otherwise. With the advent of AI, it seems inexcusable.

Thanks for Turkish, Apple. It's really proved useful some of the time for me, like summarizing long WhatsApp conversations and notifying only something useful (works well enough) but still needs improvement of course. Now, how about something even more important, like Apple Pay? Please bring it here!!!
