iOS 26.1 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

anyone else getting an error when taking a photo using the ultra wide camera (close up picture)? I keep getting the error "Unable to load photo - error occured while loading a higher quality version..." I don't use optimize storage for photos so it should be keeping high quality on device. Can't figure it out.

This one just started the other day: I have announce messages turned on in CarPlay. Sometimes when Siri reads messages from my wife, it’s in a foreign language. A couple messages later it’s back to English I can understand. Then randomly it’ll be the foreign language again. No translation features are enabled (I think)

So restored back to iOS 20.0 a few days ago and the battery life is now back to great. Have no idea what was going on with 26.1 but it cut battery by 1/2 and battery stats didn't really show anything. Never got warm or hot, seemed totally normal other than battery being depleted in 1/2 the time. Would like to go to 26.0.1 but not gonna chance it since I have a iP16 and it seems most of the "fixes" were for the iP17s. Maybe beta 2 will offer something better but I will be waiting on you guys to test it for a bit. Thanks in advance. 🤔😄

Same issue though it fixes after a while and I use optimize storage. What's more worrying is that macro photos (which uses the ultrawide) are considerably less sharp than macros taken with iOS 26.0 on my 17 PM.

I have a 17 pro on verizon. Is anyone having their device staying on LTE to where it should be on 5G. It does eventually go over to 5G. I know it is beta and dont use as a daily driver. just was seeing if beta or device itself?

I love this bug - it’s like it’s having a laugh at the user.
 
Can you guys make a screenshot in Weather app? I only get a black image as a result, not even clock/network/battery info at the top, just all black. I can screen record though.

It seems better today with the unable to load issue but yes the quality of the close up pictures look considerably worse than on my 16.
