I’ve never used AOD, but this issue persists through 26.1 beta 2, may be a little worse. Since a few others have stated they are not seeing it, your mileage may vary🤷‍♂️-17PM and 13’ M4 iPad Pro.
It only seems to happen when I let the phone sit for a few minutes, and try to unlock it straight from the AOD screen. If you unlock then lock then unlock again after a few seconds it won't do it. If it sits for like 3-5 minutes and then you unlock it will do it almost every time

I've had this, too. I wonder if it's just slow ramping back up from a 1Hz refresh rate.

26.1 beta 1 fixed this issue for me. Haven’t seen it happen in a long time.

Do you have adaptive power enabled?

All i know is my battery life completely tanked with adaptive battery turned on. Could barely get half a day out of it. I let it learn for a few weeks but it was just horrible with it turned on. If you have bad battery life try to turn that off and see if it helps.
Kinda weird since that's supposed to have exactly the opposite effect. So far my standby is excellent. Today for example off charge at 8:00 and at 1:15 its still 100%. Minimal use today of course (20min screen and 43 screen off). But point being nothing in background killing it apparently. So just when in use it seems to take more battery than previous on 26.0 and 26.0.1. Maybe B3 next week will improve it.

A bit off-topic, but not sure where to put it and I don’t want to open a thread for that.

I hope this gets sorted rather sooner than later.

I found an odd one: the timer doesn't sound the alarm with the time set to two minutes, and the screen saver comes on. If I keep the screen on by touching it every 30 seconds, the alarm comes on fine. Also, it comes on at ten minutes, and an hour (when the screen saver has come on), but it won't at 2 minutes. Odd.
iPhone SE v2, iOS 26.0.1.

Screen saver? You mean the lock screen?

I just set a one minute timer on my phone (by Siri, so the screen went blank after a few seconds) and ... it alerted me as usual. Just in case 2 minutes was a special case, I tried that and ... worked.

I didn't write that very well, I meant the screen going blank (guess I shouldn't call it a screensaver). I just tried it again, setting 2 minutes using Siri, screen went dark quickly, and the alarm worked. Tried it again, setting 2 minutes via the Clock app (accessed from the Lock screen), and the screen darkened at about 1:45 but was still visible, and right at 2:00 the timer hit 0:00, the Lock screen turned on again, no alert, and then went dark.
So, apparently 26 gets confused when the screen is just about to go blank, I guess. Weird.

Do you have your display set to lock after 2 minutes? This is interesting! Maybe set it to 1 minute and see if the 2 minute timer then works. Of course, you'll then not be able to use a 1 minute timer, but at least it clarifies the problem so you can log it in Feedback.

In my mind, a "screensaver" is that thing where toasters fly around 😁

Idk it draws the text below the icons and the widgets immediately, it’s just the app icons themselves that take a second extra to load
I’m going to try it with adaptive power disabled and see if any change
I’m still on 26.0.1 not 26.1 beta and somebody else here said 26.1 seemed to fix it

The latest beta has rendered my ipad almost unuseable. I can’t blame the apps because it happens to HBOmax, Hulu, Disney, and Prime. The audio gets funky, then straight up shuts off. Sometimes a reboot fixes it.

No issues on my iPad Air M1. Try reinstalling the beta over with an IPSW file.

Anyone notice that memory isn't being freed up when you delete apps and files???
my poor 64 gig - iPhone barely has room for anything!

This may be an old bug, but I've not had a phone with AOD up until two weeks ago.

If I add an action to turn AOD on or off in a shortcut, and AOD is already in that state, the action freezes for a few seconds then aborts the shortcut.

Feedback logged.

New UI bug:

Go into a Messages conversation and then swipe back out of it really fast. Each time you go in and swipe back out quickly, the search bar at the bottom gets pushed further and further to the right.

I joined IBM back in 63!

Is AOD behavior improved? On 26-26.0.1 AOD will sometimes play Dynamic Island animations (charging, digital key) animations twice or be deformed on AOD altogether.

Is Astronomy wallpaper working correctly?

There are still UI bugs like this: if I open a blank tab in Safari and go to macrumors.com, this is the UI I see. If I switch to another tab and switch back then it becomes dark gray again. This is on an iPad Pro.

I still have an issue with the sound randomly stopping. I wake up late and look at the phone screen and there’s no sound. Usually it’s because a notification stopped the sound from continuing to go off. Super annoying and I’ve reported this for YEARS.

Has nothing to do with attention aware being on because that’s supposed to lower the volume. Not stop it completely!!
I wish they would make the same UI change to the Apple Watch
