Slide Over was removed from iPadOS last month when iPadOS 26 debuted, but the newly released 26.1 beta 2 restores it—at least partially.

Looks like "New" slide-over only supports 1 app. [for now] I imagine Apple wants users to get a feel for it before unleashing the beast in full release
It’s not the original slideover, it’s a slideover-ish feature in the new multitasking. “There does appear to be one big feature missing though, at least in beta 2: you can currently only have a single Slide Over app at a time.”

Ok but honestly, I don’t think it’s that bad.
If you are that afraid then you might wait until the iOS 27 until you update to 26 😅
No but honestly there isn’t a huge dealbreaker and 26.1 (the final) should be fine to update.
I’m wondering why mine doesn’t show a translucent background when opening a folder.
Update: I had Reduce Transparency on in Accessibility settings.
I agree. With the folder being centered it just looks off with the text left aligned.

iOS 26.1 beta 2 was a 5.07GB download for me coming from beta 1 of 26.1 on an iPhone 17 Pro.
Also, I see that Apple Intelligence is now 2.24GB more space used compared to 26.1 beta 1 (6.62GB vs 8.84GB).For those wondering I have AirPods Pro 2 and have all the languages downloaded for translation, maybe that went up a bit in size, who knows.
Carrier file at Rogers is the same in Canada as 26.1 beta 1, but as others noted the modem firmware went up to 1.10.03 from 1.10.00 on the 17 models.

I don’t understand why they can’t fix this saturation bug for the wallpaper? It only happens when you just created it. Have to switch to another then switch back and it fixes it.
Apple fixed the annoying safari bug where the address bar would get squished and unreadable when scrolling up and down with the new beta that others and myself reported on beta 1. It affected compact and bottom display for tabs. Yay!
There’s a new toggle under Accessibility -> Display & Text Size. Enabling it gives buttons and such an outline. Previously the same occurred when Increase Contrast was enabled.
Wow ok. The storage needed for Apple AI grows more and more. Not a fan of it.
I like this: both the Alarm and Timer now require a swipe to turn off (snooze/repeat is still just a touch away).
What should Apple do to fix App Library text on bright wallpapers?? Make the text black or add more of a shadow behind it? This has been this way since 26 beta 1. Need you guys to put this in feedback
