I updated yesterday and last night scored a "High" with 77. So I am not sure the article is correct.
This, unfortunately is an article about a very early beta of 26.2, not 26.1 which I suspect you may have just updated to.
Big slew of 26.2 Beta news right now, which is a little confusing since 26.1 just came out.

Correction: this is a iOS 26 feature, not an WatchOS 26 feature.

Can confirm with my daily sleep scores on an Apple Watch S5 with WatchOS 10 and iPhone SE 3rd gen with iOS 26.

I still don't understand how this is linked to other sleep data. It all feels isolated and not adding much value. How does REM or deep affect this, probably not at all, it just all feels disjointed with vitals and other sleep data already available

I can't tell for sure but this seems more in line with how others feel on comparable trackers so good change.

So a few weeks ago I had this dream where I forgot my Nintendo Switch in a street café on a table and someone took it.

But since I keep an AirTag in its carrying case (I really do, it fits well among the carts), I decided to chase it down.

Couldn’t find a bike to rent nearby, so I ended up running all over the city. I kept running and running to wherever Find My was pointing me.

Then I almost got eaten by a bunch of stray dogs on the way and decided to wake up at that point 😭

Sleep score: 99.

Data without actionable insights really isn't that useful.

I remain mesmerized by how much of this space (use of data collected by AW) has been ceded by Apple fully to third parties.

One of many reasons folks love Garmins is the App and devices that bring it all together, with no 3rd party Apps needed at all.

I like the sleep tracking feature, or at least seeing how I score. The only thing I don't understand is why it cares about "bedtime" at all. What's it matter what time I actually go to bed? It should only try to monitor hours slept and waking up etc.
Totally agree with this. And to have it account for 30% of the overall score makes the score sus.
