I just updated on my iPhone Air and WOW I think I haven’t seen any jitters or lags so far and it’s been couple of hours! I’m so happy. Will done Apple for now though LoL hope it continues to the next beta train.
P.s Anyone experience jitters or lagging give it time it will disappear!

I'm not sure what has caused all of the problems on my 12 Pro. All I know is the problems started with the Public iOS26 release. I decided to try the betas (.1 and. 2) to see if things improved, but they have not. The various problems just stack up. At this point I'll wait for the public 26.2 release to see what issues might get resolved. If all fails I will try the full restore as you suggest.
A full erase of my phone and then set up as new, and then restore all my stuff from the cloud, fixed my issues and I think my battery drain. Also, oddly enough, I got almost 80 gb back after the complete erase and set up/restore was finished. Really glad I did it yesterday.

Do the edge highlights on the Dock/App Library still get stuck if you enter an app before it resets back to its default location? 26.1 beta 4 was perfect and then they messed it up in RC.

You aren’t alone—and this is coming from someone with a 17 Pro Max, albeit with Reduce Animations/Reduce Transparency enabled.

Any time I long-press the Wi-Fi control in Control Center I get a respring; any time I hit the ellipsis (…) button in Music the app crashes. Will submit reports in a bit.
I’m trying to file bug reports but the Feedback app keeps crashing 😂 better try Safari I guess

Edit: There’s something severely broken in this build, whether someone is experiencing it or not—even Safari crashes when I try to add an attachment using the web version of Feedback Assistant. I’ll try later on the Mac.

This guys from Apple are crazy, the stutter from Widget to Home Screen is fixed, but the one in App Library when swiping down for Search is back

! What a shame!
Swiping for search in App Library is perfectly smooth here. 17 Pro.

I wasn’t planning on running this beta but jumped as soon as I heard about the Home Screen stutters being fixed. Sounds like a small issue but it was pretty jarring.

Additional Notes

To get the beta over-the-air:
  1. Enable Beta Updates (Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates)
  2. Make sure you’re signed into the right Apple Account
  3. Select which beta you’d like to receive (public/developer beta)
  4. Hit "Back" and pull down to refresh
  5. Back up to a computer or to iCloud
  6. Install the beta
If you no longer wish to receive beta updates:
  1. Turn off the Beta Updates (you can also sign out of your Apple Account to reset this setting)
  2. Wait for the next public release or follow the guide below to go back to a release build
Troubleshooting: If the beta doesn’t show up on your phone, try turning on airplane mode, then turning it back off, or restart your device.

How to install using a Mac?
  1. You’ll need the Xcode beta itself or a MobileDevice.pkg somebody extracted from the beta (click with two fingers or control-click), then choose Show Package Contents. Go to Contents/Resources/Packages. - this will work on older Macs that do not support the latest macOS or Xcode betas)
  2. Back up to your Mac or to iCloud in case you need to go back to another version
  3. Hold down Option, then click on ‘Check for Update’/‘Restore iPhone...’ and select the IPSW file you downloaded from the Apple Developer site. Note: You must be connected to the internet to complete the restore.
  4. Enter your iPhone passcode if you’re prompted to do so.
Notes/Tips:
  • Always keep a backup in case you need to restore your phone
  • Restoring wipes your settings and all data on your iPhone
  • You only need to reinstall MobileDevice.pkg if your Mac stops recognizing your iPhone
  • There is no MobileDevice.pkg equivalent to iTunes for PC which would require a new iTunes to support new/beta iOS
  • Upgrading to a newer iPhone? You can update using your Mac before setting up the phone

Fix graphical and other UI issues

Add a light effect to the top third of widgets in dark mode but only for non-tinted home screens ✅

IMG_3990.png

I know this has been present since .2 beta 1, but who asked for this and why? What was wrong with the way it’s been for literally over 4 years? It’s just ugly and really sticks out like a sore thumb.

How are you guys finding the general iPhone performance on the iPhone 17/Pro/Max and 16? Does it feel pretty good in general app use, like web browsing, YouTube, Music…regular day to day use.

Is it getting warm or bugging out more than usual? Does it feel like a reasonable daily driver beta?

Thanks, I’m thinking of installing if there are no major bugs.

Micro stutters in Safari have been reduced to nano stutters, at least for me. It’s basically just as „good“ as iOS 18 was so far.
Would be nice if they worked out the last few remaining hiccups though, but at least I can now scroll in relative peace again, what a relief.

@Dust-by-Monday They surely do, at least for me.
I honestly couldn’t put my finger on what caused the light effect to get stuck. Now I know.
Feedback report outgoing.

Had a feeling it was Reduced Motion being on combined with these new beloved animations causing the crashes, and it turns out I was correct. Just tried without Reduce Motion enabled and everything works (although it makes me want to pop a Dramamine).

Hoping, praying for a fix in beta 3; at least it seems we’re already on weeklies.
