This is an ongoing issue during the last few betas using British English Siri voice 1 and Apple maps navigation. Another member reported this in a previous older beta thread if I remember rightly.

With the above settings, an ‘eh’ will be added to the spoken words of many road names, for example Northesk Street will be read as Northeskeh Street.

I reported this awhile ago but the feedback is they can’t help with the information provided.

Anyone else have anything similar?

I think the British Siri voice 1 has been rewritten by Scousers. Eh, eh, eh!😁

“iTunes, which you want nothing to do with” wrong, stop right there - I have nothing against iTunes, however I have already migrated to the new Apple apps. I’ve expressed interest in a regression without data loss however this has never been successfully demonstrated when I’ve asked about it.

“OTA , which you want nothing to do with is stable” wrong, stop right there - someone in this very thread posted of an OTA update gone very wrong. It is also the long standing consensus of the community that an OTA update is a lesser process than an IPSW update. Next!

“Apple Devices, which is totally unstable” it doesn’t function but I haven’t had it completely crash before to my recollection, at least not in the same way I’ve seen many very unstable builds of iOS completely crash

“and an iOS update that never officially existed” - it did exist and there were numerous articles about it being tested posted right here on MacRumors, they have the data. They canceled it and replaced its release with a much inferior version

“is what you DO want.” Wrong, it’s what I DID want. I don’t care about it anymore, 26.2 is here. At the time I did want it

According to a Reddit post you can still use the Windows Apple Music app alongside iTunes. An answer states:

“If you want you can still use iTunes alongside AM.

runas - "C:\Program Files\RunAsTool\RunAsTool.exe" mto

I use both just run iTunes as Administrator”

Isn’t there a way to turn off your phone auto-syncing in iTunes? If so, in theory could you just use iTunes to check for, and apply, software updates?

There's long been a back & forth with them about this very niche issue. I've even offered to do exactly what it is they're trying to do, just to see if I can replicate their issue, but they're not providing any sort of Feedback ID, so there's no way for me to reference their issue if I also have that issue.

I've also seen plenty of folks that use both iTunes and the broken up apps, and some people don't even seem to have to jump through hoops at all.

tl;dr: there's only so much a community can do to try and help or point them in the right direction. It's up to the MR mods now, and from my experiences, my own posts tend to just get removed due to "bickering", when I was clearly offering help. Sooo.. yeah.

BTW you can also uninstall all the 3 new Apple apps and install iTunes too and use it for backup, sync, update etc. without data loss. Your data is tied to your AppleID and device not the application.

In the messages app, I used to be able to just swipe away from any picture that I’m viewing. Now the only way to close out out of looking at a picture is to tap the picture again to show the X in the corner and then tap the X.

Swipe down on the image and it will bring you back to the message. I don't remember how this was in older versions.

Right, this isn’t working for me. I’m used to just swiping up or down from the picture to dismiss it, but that’s not working. I’m having to tap the picture and then the X

It's working for me... try force-closing iMessages or a regular reboot? It usually fixes these weird behavior things that show up later after updating.

I've tried force quitting and a reboot, yeah. I've been on the RC since it was released.

I installed RC2 and none of the problems I had with RC1 have been resolved. The bottom part of the system still loads with stutters in some areas, and the local capture function is still missing.
