Wouldn't be a release without new emoticons!
Apple has a history of pandering to children, juveniles and the easily amused with cutesy animations, various OS elements like Liquid Glass and emojis.

It's a strategy that's paid off handsomely to win young customers. To make iPhone the "cool phone" on the playground.

iPad (2025) was frozen yestreday before iOS 26.2.1 update
before that it was frozen in october on iOS 26.0.1

its nearly 5 months from release ios 26 -- new update remove some bugs and add another later...

on iPhone - im still waiting for better SIRI, for more languages in Apple Inteligence,
on iOS 26.2.1 - face id is slower
on iOS 26.2 - face id bugs - nearly 2-3 times per day i must write password

which version will be ok? im tired of this

I like the integration of more AI. But do we really need more emoji crap. I blow past these without giving any thought to them. If you have something to say, then say it.

I’m 65 and I find them fascinating. I use AI daily.
Great. For you.

But I not only wish to be able to deactivate it, I want the option to not install it in the first place, and whatever other software I deem unwelcome, like Siri.

As to the latest extras in iOS:

When are we going to get the 'Turning the phone off actually turns the phone completely off' function? As in a battery disconnected hardware off, not merely a software off?

Coz that is the function I most want in all my electronic devices. When it is 'off' it should really be off, with no possibility of any of it being on.

What about extra energy use because of the Glass interface ? We we be able to tone it down even more ? What about an Opaque mode ?

Will the marvelous features install on an iPhone SE (3rd gen)?

I rarely see a comment on where new features will apply? Usually just a general statement hailing the power and glory of the upgrade; rarely one that says "...applicable from here up."
