Recently helped someone switch from android to iOS using Apple’s app on the Google play store, let’s just say it didn’t go as smoothly as they show in their video, first it’s installed getting the six digit code and had to cancel and start over twice, none of the text messages came across, it didn’t like any of the files on the SD card, and very little call history came across. For some reason they could transfer WhatsApp, but all the gaming apps left download links on the new device, but first you had to create an Apple ID and manually tap each icon to initiate a download.
The only thing that actually worked was the photos and the contacts. o_O 📱📲
Then helped someone with an old iPhone 11 move to a 17 pro, everything went smoothly. It’s a conspiracy man.

Last Friday I moved from an iPhone 16+ to a Pixel 10 Pro XL. Sim swap initiated on the Pixel, which put up a QR Code. The used the iPhone camera to start the process. Took about two min total before I saw the SOS on the iPhone. This is on ATT.

Buh Bye to LiquidArse. IOS has been declining for years. Apple stock software is not good. My iPhone was a launch pad for Google and Microsoft software. Great sale on the Pixel $899. Picked up the Pixel Buds Pro 2's on sale as well $169 plus store credit. Gave the iPhone to my kid. Pixel with pure Andriod 16 is very nice. They keyboard alone is so much better than the iPhone keyboard.

It is not pure Android at all.

Easier switching between OS when required is a nice addition. I am not planning on switching from iOS. But having a simple and easy way to switch is good.

Same OS migration is always easier. I have bunch of Google Pixel devices, transferring between different Pixel is very easy. I also helped bunch of people transferring between Samsung Phones, easy as well.

Transferring from iPhone to Android is always pain the a**

The only downside of this is, I'll have to update my trusty 12 Pro to iOS 26 prior to finally jump the ship. 🤔
This will definitely ruin it's high value on the second hand market, as it still rocks iOS 17.7.2! :(

[edit] Maybe I should first try the Android Switch App, which requires only iOS 15.0 and later! :D
Just installed that app - just in case... 😶
