Hello,

I would like to share my experience using iOS 26.4.1 on the iPhone 17 Pro Max. I have encountered persistent system-wide lag, stuttering, choppy UI behavior, and occasional overheating. These issues affect scrolling, swiping, the control center, the home screen, and multitasking. Restarting the device did not resolve the problems. Despite submitting feedback to Apple since iOS 26.0, these concerns remain unaddressed. While the A17 Pro, A18, and A19 chips are highly capable, the software performance on iOS 26 continues to be disappointing. In my experience, iOS 18 offered the best stability, optimization, and battery life. I hope the Apple Software Engineering Team is aware of these issues and will address them in iOS 26.5. I would appreciate hearing how iOS 26.4.1 is performing on your devices.

I just encounter a weird outcome is come Sound alert. After I update the latest version. To me actually I don't have those problems you encounter " seem ok ". This morning wake up noticed my Alert sound like mic faulty like that. I switch to slient mode and back to alert it seem back to normal. I also test call my self , mic seem ok. Kinda weird is don't know why the Alert sound suddenly can be muffle as I never do anything and previous day is all ok after I do the IOS update.

Now a days Apple is .... I don't know what happen to them.

Same here, fine on my 16 and 16 pro, have got reports on BT issues from some users tho. But that's apparently but these issues has been around since 26.3 The issues were related to connecting to airpods and BT in cars. Doesn't seem like 26.4.1 has resolved it.

Some users seem to have fixed it by deleting the BT device and added it again. Personally haven't had any issues with BT recently.

We don't have any iPhone 17 users so can't really say anything about that particular device and 26.4.1

No worse than any other version of 26.x. It's never been as good as 18, but it's not awful. It's stable. It's reliable. No heat issues.

Most of the lag I notice is just reduced animation speed. Scrolling is slower, FaceID is slower, etc. It just wants to spend more time showing you the animations to admire how pretty everything is. Great for a showroom, but horrible for actual productivity. I really hope iOS 27 has an animation speed option like Android, but I doubt it.

Most of the bugs I experience are just visual glitches in iPadOS, not iOS. It is very obvious on an iPad that Liquid Glass is just a layer over Springboard and it fails to render correctly a lot of the time, leading to headaches when tapping, highlighting, resizing windows, split-screen, slide-over, etc. It just hasn't gotten any better over the months. Makes me very pessimistic on how iOS will look and behave on the Fold in iOS 27.

Out of curiosity, I'm wondering if you and others with this experience do iCloud sharing, eg with photos or iCloud drive or whatever? 26.x has been a bad experience for me on an older iPad, but, I'm wondering if my use of iCloud photo sharing might be the issue? (It shouldn't be, of course, but ...) Safari has been particularly laggy.
