Hey all,

Just wanted to check if anyone else is experiencing this on iOS 26.4.2

When I use Spotlight search and type something like “Instagram,” the keyboard is instant, but the results area stays blank for about ~0.5–1 second before the app icon shows up (kind of like a “pop-in” effect).

It’s not a huge lag, but noticeable especially since I remember Spotlight being almost instant before.

Context:

Recently updated to iOS 26.4.2
No other major performance issues
Trying to figure out:
Is this just normal behavior now because Spotlight searches everything (apps, contacts, messages, etc.)?
Or is it still indexing / rebuilding in the background?
Or is this a known issue with iOS 26.4.2?

The macOS 26 has changed how the icons are being drawn, the icons are now more complicated than before (they are multi layered and rendered in real time). It would appear that how this has been implemented results in icons being rendered rather slow sometimes. I hope it will be optimized in the near future.

But from what I have been reading right now, please excuse me for not checking earlier, 26.4 should have fixed/improved this. I wouldn't know unfortunately, I am still on Sequoia.
