That was my 16PM now twice just before I had to restore (1st OTA update of 26.3, 2nd clean install 26.4 and 3rd restoring using ispw to 26.4

Always same … less than 24h after installation

Unreal. What a nasty bug. I’m hopeful they can get this sorted out by Beta 2.

I’m gonna stick it out for now. Hoping for an update in a few hours.

I am really surprised that MacRumors hasn’t run a story on that System Data bug. It started with 26.0, and I keep seeing it mentioned in multiple places online (Reddit, Threads, Mastodon, here), with people reporting it happening on iOS, macOS and watchOS.

It’s obviously something that doesn’t happen for most users, but it’s happening enough that there are lots of threads about it now. Here’s one, for example:

System Data Overflow Bug - storage full with 170GB of undeletable data!

I have a major issue with my iPhone, and I have found no way possible to fix it! All of the sudden, my storage keeps going full, and there is no way to get any free data whatsoever because of what’s actually consuming it. Of all the 256GB of data on my 16 Pro Max, 170 GB of it is being consumed...

Seems like a super serious bug for those who do experience it. The thread above suggests it’s something to do with system icon cache files.

Not seeing at at this time…. Air > Edge < Air - with all turned on.

It’s at least much improved … value fluctuating between 22 and 27 GB at the moment.

(On Beta-1 it would already been time to restore because all space available would been used up until now).



EDIT after 36h:

Starts to show tendency to grow, now at 42 +/- 4gb. Not the exponential growth of beta-1. I think this will survive until beta-3.

Bug Report updated accordingly

Please find 16 Pro max ( Inida) Screen shots which is having SW Info , Model firmware info , and carrier version info. Hope this will be good enough to update . if at all if you want to update ... I am not feeling well by seeing wrong info. as you guys are working hard to share info to all users. I appreciate it. Sharing correct info will be a usefull. Usually this info i did not get officially form Apple Side. your doing good thing.

Does any one facing heating issue after updating to 26.4 beta 1. I am facing this after upgrading to 26.4 beta_1 . even heat is a small work, its like burning...

not getting what to do. Its iPhone 16 pro Max. Its almost One and half year I bought it in after launch with in one week. never faced such heating(burning) issue. seem like need to hurry to service center. Even in Idle state of phone also its burning. I just left it over night without keeping charging .. next day morning , it burning like any thing. I switched off it. after 10 mins it came to normal state . Does any one facing such issue, please suggest me what to do.

Just updated to beta 2 of 26.4 Need to check how it will be...
