Can see it being useful. Not sure on when it will launch. But definitely expecting it to take a long time before it is available on a majority of cars as manufacturers will be taking their time.

Please just first stop the random frequent disconnects while using carplay !!

Because I can watch it on a bigger screen with proper speakers and a subwoofer vs a phone screen and tinny speakers compared to the ones in my car (17 PM).

Not even a close comparison.
depends on the car I guess. my cars screen is an 8 inch screen that's like 800x600 resolution and,, while the audio system is a good 9 speaker thing, it's only good for music. Movies sound terrible in stereo with the vocal track booming from all sides. Plus the audio delay on CarPlay is atrocious for video currently so they will def have to fix that.

So how long until Apple faces a huge suit from someone pulling into their garage or someplace else and falls asleep while watching a video on carplay leading to a CO poisoning death? Not saying they should be liable, but ‘should be’ hardly seems to be the bar to cross these days.

Really only useful if you have a modern car with a giant screen. My 2019 Trax's screen is small so there's not very much use in playing video on that.
In my experience it's also useful if your wife wants to play video on the car screen because look there's a screen right there and why shouldn't it work, and you don't want the cold chill that would follow any explanation of why not every screen needs to do everything another screen can.
