Apple's newly released iOS 26.5.2, iPadOS 26.5.2, and macOS 26.5.2 updates address more than 25 security vulnerabilities, which means you should install the updates as soon as possible.

According to Apple's security support documents for the updates, the new software has vulnerability fixes that Apple previously made available in the iOS 26.6, iPadOS 26.6, and macOS Tahoe 26.6 betas.

There are multiple kernel fixes, and several WebKit vulnerabilities that could lead to crashes or data leaks have been addressed. None of the vulnerabilities are known to have been actively exploited, but now that Apple has published details about them, it is possible malicious entities could create exploits targeting users who have not yet updated.

Apple always recommends that iPhone, iPad, and Mac users keep their devices up to date and install the new software patches shortly after they're released.

I wonder if any of these were fixed/caught with the help of Anthropic’s Mythos when they provided limited access to large tech companies earlier this year.
I can’t wait for AI to break more security and for AI to fix those breaks and on and on at a pace security experts can’t maintain as it all takes on a life of its own and we’re just sitting back and watching helplessly.

If AI can “fix” it, they’ll use it to exploit it. Nothing will change except human involvement in stopping it.

Envision the scenario where artificial intelligence assumes control. The frequency and magnitude of these security incidents, which are unacceptable in every aspect, will undoubtedly increase. Each modification, addition, and interaction introduces potential security vulnerabilities. We require a gradual and consistent adaptation process, akin to the turtle versus hair releases, that ensures stability and reliability.

An AI cat and mouse game run by technocrats - they supply the demand while we pay for the fixes. AI is not going to make things better for us, they don’t care, it’s all about making them wealthier and in control. Those who control the algorithms will control it all.

At the rate that AI is finding security holes, Apple will have to build in automatic non-disabled updates into the next iOS and macOS versions so your device can updated daily. 😵

In order for Apple to scan all their software for vulnerabilities with Mythos, they would have had to send the source code for EVERYTHING to anthropic. That's a lot of trust.

We are already here. Script kiddies in the 90s were just using what is now referred to as AI to use scripts others created to cause chaos.
