this update just finished and it will not allow me to use the screen period. it turned off my face ID so the only option is to input the pin yet the screen is nonfunctional. i did a manual restart and it still will not allow me to use the screen. any suggestions

When you say non functional do you mean that the touch functionality isn't working or is the screen completely dead?
Do you have a USB-C dock and an external screen? What happens if you hook it up to that? If touch isn't working it isn't much use I guess.

Forced restart (volume up, down and then lock button for 30 seconds), have you tried that?

Weird. A relative of mine just asked me about freezing on her iPhone 15 pro max today. Couldn’t shut it down. Went to the Apple Store and they wanted her to reset it and install everything as new, one by one app install, not by backup. Said to wait a week for the next update, iOS 27. She didn’t want to lose her stuff even with iCloud backup.
